USES OF ASYNCHRONOUS,
SYNCHRONOUS, AND
BLENDED TECHNOLOGY IN
CLASS
PROJECT EXPECTATIONS
 Design an ar tistic representation of your element, including
proper ties that represent that element.
 Using research developed outside of class you wi l l work with
your par tners in order to develop a digital and physical
representation of said element.
 You wi l l be expected to incorporate the techniques you have
been learning in ar t and technology.
 You wi l l be graded based on the general MYP Rubric,
clari fication wi l l be discussed in class. Each class wi l l assign
a specific grade and criteria.
Examples of physical copies are attached, as well as tools to use in Photoshop

In art they practice and learn shading techniques,
Using photoshop, students will incorporate those
Ideas while learning the ins/outs of photoshop

 Ultimately I am requiring the students to turn in 2
representations of their atom.
1. Digital 2. Hand drawn/created
 Within their respective classes, ar t and technology the
students wi l l work with those teachers to create models
fol lowing ar tistic guidelines.
 In science they wi l l be graded on the accuracy of their model
and information.
FINAL PRODUCT
Specifically because Cadmium is a main
Ingredient in yellow paint
Not because this represents the element itself
But the discoverer and representation of the given
Name.
METHOD OF INSTRUCTION
 To make this a blended activity, the students wi l l be given the
topic idea and project information in class. I myself providing
both a print and digital copy as an example.
 In a matter of 2 weeks, they wi l l conduct research outside of
class, to discover di f ferent aspects of their specific elements,
and how they fit together on the scientific periodic table.
 Resources will be provided via moodle and googledocs for them to
focus research.
 Within our respective classes we wi l l be discussing the
dif ferent styles in which to present their element.
 Having them do research outside of class, we can work
together on focusing their research and wel l as checking the
legitimacy of it whi le designing their graphic representations.
