- 2. Scenario 1: “ If you can prove your worth, then you’re part of us,” dared Fazli to Aaron, as he hands over a wooden stick to him. Aaron is worried… and helpless. Should he beat up that boy? What have the boy done that he should be beaten up? He did not look for any trouble; he is just sitting there innocently, waiting for his bus. But if Aaron refuses to do it, there goes his chance of being accepted by the group. No, he cannot let that happen. He has been trying his luck to get into the group for so long, and finally this is his chance! Aaron strengthens his grip on the stick, braces himself, approaches the boy and starts picking on him. All this while the group watch from a distance.

- 4. Scenario 2: “ How much was that for?” “ As usual – a hundred.” The man puts the cash on the coffee table and then leaves the room. Ira drags herself out of the bed and sits on its edge. She stares at the cash left behind. She feels cheap…and dirty. But she believes it is not her fault. She did not bring this upon herself. It is the circumstances. Her father is in jail. Her mother is sick. She has to pay the bills. Therefore, she needs the money…quick.

- 6. Scenario 3: It is painful. She knows. But Shasha cannot help it. She is addicted to it. Cutting her wrist, that is. Shasha needs to feel the pain. Only though this kind of physical pain can she numb herself from suffering the real pains in her life. She needs to get away from it all – the pressure of having to ace her exams all the time, the high expectations that she has to live up to, as the role model student, and many more. And cutting, it seems, has been able to provide her with that much needed ‘escape’.

She may seem all calm and collected outside, but on the inside Lina is struggling with her conscience. She does not want to abort the baby, but…she has no other choice. Rizal already said he did not wish to have anything to do with the pregnancy. He said, as far as he is concerned, he was responsible enough to use the condom. And she does not dare to tell her parents. They will definitely kill her. “ Lina Salim, come in.” The nurse’s call startled her back to reality. So this is it. She stands up, and nervously walk into the operation theatre.
