The nervous system is composed of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, sense organs, and receptors. It is made up mostly of water, lipids, proteins, and carbohydrates. The human brain contains around 100 billion neurons, similar to the number of stars in the sky. The brain communicates with the rest of the body through neurons, including sensory neurons that detect senses, motor neurons that signal muscle movement, and interneurons that connect with other neurons.
