Is Wyser About to Roll?
Our sources are telling us that
former Marion County Deputy
Prosecutor David Wyser has been
in talks with the FBI over a
possible plea agreement in
connection with an investigation
into whether the office took
campaign contributions in
exchange for lenient plea deals.
The talk is that the FBI is trying to
get Wyser to roll over on former
Prosecutor Carl Brizzi. We’ll keep
you posted as some news could
break in the next two weeks.
Look for Marion Mayor Wayne
Seybold to make a big
announcement regarding his
political future shortly after
session.
Pence’s Communication
Problem?
We’ve been hearing for a while
about a problem brewing between
the Mike Pence administration and
the political establishment in the
Statehouse, it’s a communication
issue. We’re not sure of the full
extent of it, but the grumblings
have been more noticeable
lately. TCS is going to do some
digging and hopefully be able to
have something to report back in
the next edition in a couple of
weeks. We do know the Pence
folks are getting an earful from
Indiana’s far right. They want a
more, bold aggressive social
agenda, unfortunately, or
fortunately, the Governor has been
focusing on getting Hoosiers to
work. Like we said, we’re keeping
our ears close to the ground on
this one.

Bosma’s Back
TCS is glad to hear that House
Speaker Brian Bosma is back to the
Statehouse Wednesday following
emergency surgery. We’re also
told Bosma worked really hard to
get back was to be more involved
in the discussions regarding the
whole Rockport gasification matter.
More on Mass Transit’s
Detour
So how did mass transit end up on
the road to a study
committee? Easy, it was the only
thing lawmakers could have agreed
on. Some didn’t like the
referendum, some didn’t like the
tax increase, some didn’t like the
light rail component, so the only
thing they could agree on was to
send it to a summer study
committee and try to hash out all
the details. No one wanted to send
the referendum to 2015, because
that would drive (pardon the pun)
the Mayor’s race. We hear they
believe they can get all this done
and likely on the ballot in 2015.
Polling 621
TCS hears Marion County
Democrats may have been polling
to find out how to message their
opposition to SB 621 which either
reformed Marion County
government or was the biggest
power grab since World War
II. The Democrats have been
having a lot of trouble garnering
public support for the bill as
evidence by the fact there hasn’t
been much traction outside the
political class. Their most recent
effort was an ad put out by County
Party equating Mayor Greg Ballard
to the Emperor in Star Wars.
Democrats Courting
Scales?
Indianapolis City-County Council
Democrats are trying to get
Christine Scales to flip
parties. They are trying to
capitalize on her split with her
caucus and the Mayor’s office on
SB 621. TCS doesn’t think she

would go “D”, she’s would be more
likely to go “I” (Independent).
A Big IPS Mess
If you thought former Indianapolis
Public Schools Superintendent
Eugene White left the district a
disaster, you are correct. Not only
was the District short $30 million
and change, but apparently just
before he left, White gave raises to
a lot of District administrators
without Board approval. And since
the were below $10,000 they didn’t
need Board approval, they were
kept just under that number. And
apparently there is quite the e-mail
trail out there. And to make
matters even worse Tech High
school has become a giant pool of
nepotism. And there are a ton of
contracts out there with individuals
making more than $100,000
annually, but no one knows exactly
what they do. Keep a watch out
for this, it’s going to be ugly.
How Not to Win Friends
If former Indiana RNC
Committeeman Jim Bopp had any
friends left in Indiana, he doesn’t
anymore. Bopp apparently went a
little overboard with some e-mails
bragging about his new
appointment with the RNC. It not
only rubbed a lot of folks the
wrong way, but it came across as
more arrogant than Bopp usually
is. The irony as one Cheat
subscriber put it is that the man
who invented the litmus test for
Republicans is heading up grass
roots outreach at a time when the
GOP needs to reach out to more
groups.
Club for Growth Not so Big
Chris Chocola and his Club for
Growth keep having problems
finding someone to run against
Larry Bucshon in the May primary
in 2014. TCS hears the big reason
is that the Congressman has kept a
relatively conservative voting
record and continues to do
moderately well on the fundraising
front. It also helps that he is not
crazy and Club for Growth helped
put Joe Donnelly in the U.S.
Senate.

Coats & Cash
U.S. Senator Dan Coats recently
told us he is proceeding as if he is
running for re-election. Well, we
have no reason not to believe
him. We know at his fundraiser
last Thursday at the Canterbury
Hotel, know he pulled in at least
$40,000. That’s definitely
someone who is running.
Who Wants to be Mayor of
Fishers
Get out your laundry list, TCS
hears the former President of the
Fishers Town Council, Walt
Kelly, has started contacting
donors about running for the Mayor
of Fishers. Depending on what kind
of support he gets, he might
announce at the end of
summer. He was President right
before Scott Faultess who is also
running for Mayor. Also, Christi
Wolf, the veteran leader of the
Fishers Chamber of Commerce,
who served 13 years as president
and CEO is rumored to be thinking
about making a run. Also on deck,
Renee Cox, John Weingardt and
maybe Dan Cannon, current
Fishers Chamber President.
Clerks
We told you months ago this was
coming, Marion County Election
Board Administrator Myla Elridge
has officially thrown her hat into
the ring for Marion County
Clerk. Myla has a couple obstacles
to overcome. First of all, we’re
told Marion County Assessor Julie
Voorhies wants the job also. And
Center Township Constable Tony
Duncan isn’t a big fan either and
apparently has a ton of dirt on
Myla that he is just waiting to
unleash. Of course Julie has some
nepotism issues we’re told with
members of her family on the
payroll in her office. One of which
is her daughter, Beth John-Ping
who is her executive
assistant. How do we know this,
it’s on her Facebook page.

LPIN Chair
The Libertarian Party of Indiana
will have their race for Chairman
on April 20th. We’re told it is a
virtual dead heat between
incumbent Chairman Sam
Goldstein and challenger Dan
Drexler, former Executive Director.
Editor’s Note
As we come down to the last
couple weeks of the Indiana
General Assembly, we plan to send
out a lot more e-mails to keep you
updated as the gossip moves
pretty quickly, so be sure to check
your e-mails regularly. It may not
be a full newsletter, but you will
definitely get the info you need to
know. We’re hearing some
interesting things on the budget,
gaming and SB 621, so stay tuned.
