The deep web refers to parts of the internet that are not indexed by regular search engines and can only be accessed through specialized browsers like Tor that provide anonymity. Websites in the deep web end in ".onion" instead of ".com" and contain not just little known forums and corporate networks, but also illegal activities. Using the deep web for e-commerce is not recommended due to its association with illegality, which could negatively impact perceptions of any business operating there. While the benefits of anonymity have some value, the deep web will likely continue to be dominated by illegal markets in the next two years as sites keep returning despite efforts to shut them down due to the money generated by underground transactions.

- 2. What is the Deep Web? Basically speaking, the deep web/ dark net/ invisible web is a part of the internet that is hosted anonymously from people all over the world.
- 3. Deep Web websites can only be accessed through the use of a tor browser which also helps protect the identity of the user. Deep Web websites are normally end in “.onion” instead of .com like the normal internet.

The deep web is a virtual iceberg in a way that it is basically the unlinked, non-crawled by major search engines, mostly ip based addresses (no DNS records) which can be summarized as not-so-known corporate networks (service records etc), some forum sites, some other stuff that really interests law enforcement people. Why it's called deep web is that you simply can't Google it but most of the sites belonging to deep Web requires an invitation from some insider.
- 5. 1) What are the implications/effects does it bring/give to E-Commerce? I really don’t approve of using the deep web for use of e-commerce since most of the businesses in the deep web are illegal.
- 6. Since most of the businesses in the deep web are illegal, if you start a business in it, it could affect the way people would think of your business in a way that people would think that you too are selling illegal stuff.
- 7. 2) How do you see this trend in the next 2 years? My wishful thinking would want to end the deep web because even though it has some benefits, it is very outweighed by its downsides which is its illegal side.
- 8. Even if I hope that the deep web will be abolished, I really doubt it since sites like the silk road even if removed, still comes back. The main reason for this is simply because it has enough income to maintain its sites because many people use it to buy illegal stuff.
