1. The decade began with the inauguration of this structure which was
earlier known as X Towers based on the name of the city it stands in.
It was later renamed to Y Tower to honour the backing and financial
aid provided by Y. An architectural wonder, its design was inspired
from Islamic architecture of the region, one of them being the Great
Mosque of Sammarra (once, the largest mosque in the world).
During Ramadan fasts, the clerics have ruled that people living in a
certain part of this place should wait for 3 additional minutes to break

6. In 2014, a social network service was shutdown. The domain of the

The shutdown of this service lead the engineer to design a new social

7. Legend has it that a serpent guards X and evil luck befalls anyone trying to
retrive things from it.

guardian says.

this place, suddenly died an year later. But the guardian will not speak anymore.
He has closed the chapter, his mind and his eyes.
After multiple attempts, since 2010, the secret of X has not been out entirely
yet. What is this place (which was also one of the firsts in the country to allow
people of all sections following a particular faith enter its premises) and the
reason for being in the news again in the last year of this decade?

Padmanabhaswamy Temple’s secret vaults and the reason being
the Supreme Court’s ruling that the administration of the temple
shall remain in the hands of the Travancore Royal Family.

8. "The gesture that I introduced into X, came from an experience -- I'm going

9. Formed in 1962, by two schoolmates who met in primary school, X is a
rock band whose logo is inspired by Kali, the Hindu goddess of everlasting
energy. In 1975, X embraced a new format for their concerts, wherein their
act was aided by theatrical stage props which famously included a giant
inflatable penis (nicknamed ‘Tired Grandfather’) by the band. They were the
first international rock band to play in Cuba in 2016. Identify X.

10. A phenomenon covered by outlets like CNN, Huffpost etc in
2009-10, was that audiences felt extremely sad after watching a
particular film. On a fan forum site, a topic thread entitled “Ways to
cope with the depression of the dream of _______ being intangible,”
received more than 1,000 posts from people experiencing sadness
after watching the film, with other fans trying to help them cope.
The topic became so popular that a second thread was started so
people could continue to post their confused feelings about the fact
that what the film depicted was not real, and thus, out of their reach.

misusing a press release issued by him to illegally alter specific dates

12. The 2019 manga ‘What has happened to me’ was created by
artist Tomomi Shimizu from Tokyo, and represents the testimony of
29 year old Tursun. The comic includes Tursun’s time living in Egypt
and her accounts of being detained in her home country on three
separate occasions between 2015 and 2017. The artist had
previously written another comic on the same political subject
matter titled ‘No one will say the name of that country’ What are

13. After the first Anglo-Sikh war, the British East India Company
and Gulab Singh Dogra struck a treaty at Amritsar in 1846. One of
the articles of the treaty was that “the British Government transfers
and makes over for ever in independent possession to Maharajah
Gulab Singh and the heirs male of his body – all the hilly or
mountainous country with its dependencies situated to the

out around the Nebi Yunus shrine in the ancient city of Nineveh, her team
discovered a complex network of waterways that carried water to the desert
city where they were subjected to a series of water-raising screws. Her findings
help shed light on a long standing historical confusion that has often been
dismissed as a legend but might be clarified with the new findings in the area,
requiring a slight revision of history. These discoveries were a result of activities
by the group in the region.

16. In November of 1440, the newly-appointed 6th Earl of Douglas, who
was just 16, and his little brother David, were invited to join the 10-year-
old King of Scotland, James II, for dinner at Edinburgh Castle. But it wasn’t
the young King who had invited the Douglas brothers. The invitation had
been issued by Sir William Crichton, Chancellor of Scotland, who feared
that the Black Douglas (there was another clan called the Red Douglas)
were growing too powerful. As legend has it, the children were all getting
along marvelously, enjoying food, entertainment and talking until the end
of the dinner, when the head of a black bull was dropped on the table,
symbolizing the death of the Black Douglas. The two young Douglases
were dragged outside, given a mock trial, found guilty of high treason, and
beheaded. It’s said that the Earl pleaded for his brother to be killed first so
that the younger boy wouldn’t have to witness his older brother’s
