TREATMENT
• A good looking guy wants to kill himself due to failing marriage and
high debts and is very depressed.
• Will he kill himself? Will there be an end of the world?
ATMOSPHERE & MOOD OF THE MOVIE
• The mood is hot weather and a good sunny day
WARDROBE
• IT MUST BE DETAILED ENOUGH SUCH AS FOR
EXAMPLE: Michael – wears a black Armani suit
with a red tie
PAGE COUNT FOR SCRIPT
• Page count for script is folded into eight
parts that is how is counted.
BREAKDOWN SHEET
• A breakdown sheet consists of Production
details that addresses all the needs that set
needs for each scene.
HIRING / SOURCING AKA PROCUREMENT
• List down all the talent and resources you need on a
page, One page is talent and the other is the
resources / supplier list
FOUR STEPS OF SCRIPT BREAKDOWN
• Separate the script into digestible segments
and regroup for easier comprehension
STEP 2 OF SCRIPT BREAKDOWN
• Re-Read the script with the purpose of noting down
what are the necessary elements in each scene.
• Where, When, Why, What and How?
STEP 3 OF SCRIPT BREAKDOWN
NOTE DOWN THE POSITIONS (DEPARTMENT OF PERSONS) RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING EVERY
NECESSARY ELEMENT IN EVERY SCENE
Example : What does the actor need? What are the props ? Clothes, Makeup etc

• Step 2 of Script breakdown is about strong indication on elements with greater impact on shooting
schedule and budget, the most common example that needs attention and included for budget
planning are: CAST, WARDROBE, HAIR AND MAKEUP.
WHAT IS A SLUG LINE.?
• SLUGLINE IS (Master scene heading etc. EXT OR INT,
NOON
• They are always found written at the beginning of each
scene.
