'The Heist' script
- 1. ‘The Heist’ Scene 1 (0sec)-Outside Dan and Mark talk on wall – media en res Dan: You make your bed and you sleep in it Mark, you got her knocked up, now you got to sort it out. Mark:Mate why can’t we just leave it to Reece? He knows what he’s doing Dan: Reece? Who even is Reece? Look mark this is what I’m worried about, some guy I don’t even know breaking into the warehousewho could just end up running off with the money leaving us cut in dad’s office (Growing sound of drum and bass from car) Mark: Na Dan, you’ve got him wrong, this is Tracy’s brother we’re talking about, like one of them real life pros. (Music stops) He probably doesn’t even need us, you know he broke into Harrods once, said he bagged almost 8 grand out of it. Dan: and you believe him? Scene 2 (20sec) - Outside Reece arrives, walking and talking Reece: (Inappropriately loud) Marcus! You alright bruv? Ain’tseen you in long, Dan: Shhhh! Reece: how’ve you been? You and trace still like seeing eachother? Heard you got her preggers?
- 2. Mark: (goes to greet reece) Reece mate, yeah found out like last month, where’ve you been? Reece: Locked up init, mugged some bloke in ASDA, turned out he was security. (Dan laughs to himself) Reece: What blud?! Took 4 police officers to get me in the car, and I stole an iphone the same day. Peek day though init mark? Mark:Sounds it Dan: You were there? Mark: (whispers to dan) No Reece: So how we doing this? We could do it quiet? Or my way(opens coat to reveal gun) Dan: Jesus!* Reece: No ones getting past me blud! Anyone tries to stop us can just pop them Dan: No, no you cant ‘Just pop them’ Mark:It’s probably we keep that stashed out here or something, we probably won’t need it Reece: But what if some cleaner thinks he’s a hero (mimics shooting) (Dan puts hands over face and lets out sigh) Mark: (extends arms quickly and lowers gun) No reece, mate it’s probably best we dump this somewhere; we don’t want anyone to die. Reece:A’right, I get you fam, but I’m not leaving it out here, emergency situations only though. Swear down Dan: I cant! We c’can’t!
- 3. Mark: Come on, remember it’s our responsibility. Dan: But he’s… Mark: I know, come on mate let’s just get this done Scene 3 (40sec)- Outside Getting to door + Equipment,Breaking in Reece gets out excessive amounts of equipment Reece: Fams don’t tish, used to do this every day before I joined the ‘AddyFamz’ Dan:AddyFamz?! Reece: Yeah blud, biggest gang in greater south London na’mean? Other than the Croydon Boyz course, them were rivals yeah? But I got too big for the whole ting so ditched them and went solo, like a wolf yeah? Dan:Well every dog has its day;it’s your day today Reece: you calling me a dog? Mark: No mate, look Reece we need to get in before somebody sees us. Looks dodgy. Dan: what three youths outside a factory with a power drill… you don’t say? Reece: I get you fam, I hear you. (Goes to drill into door)Oi mate this isn’t working, swear down I charged it before I came out Dan: Mark?!* (Dan pulls mark aside) What did I say! (background of Reece pulling out equipment) Mark: What!? Dan: Look at him, hes trying to drill through the door with a plug in power tool, that isn’t even
- 4. plugged in! I thought you said this guy was a professional? Mark:He is! Trust me Dan he’ll… (Mark falls through other door opening it) Dan: Sort it?We’re doing fine on our own, Reece! Come on (dan helps mark up and they walk into the building) Scene 4- Inside Looking around, silent alarm triggered Reece: Fams! Oifams I left my equipment outside. Wastemanz! (Reece chases briefly and slows walking past office, double take into room with laptop in, opens door and sets of silent alarm, marks pulls him out. Neither notice light) Mark: Not now mate Scene 5- Inside Into the Office looking around Mark: so what we actually looking for? Dan: Well, dad always talks about the cash he keeps in his office, got half his savings in there apparently Reece: Wait what!? We carping you mans dad? Dan and Mark: Stepdad. Dan: Shouldn’t be a problem, the guys a… Mark: He’s a prick Dan: Yeah
- 5. (Reece chuckles. Dan opens the door) Dan: This is it Reece: A’right where we headed? Dan: Scene 6- Inside Police arriving, Mark and Dan run. Reece remains Reece:famz Dan: give it a second badman Reece: Na seriously famz, you hear that Dan: Hear what? (Sirens in distance,both stand up and look out window, Dan drops equipment and forces open the draw breaking it open and taking the cash) Dan: We’re done (all run out from room, reece backtracks to office to take laptop. Door shuts) Scene 7- Outside/inside Reece breaks down, Dan and Mark reason with him (Reece goes to open the door, finds it’s locked, hits door) Reece: (laughs nervously) Marcus…?! Manz might have locked himself in. Marcus! (dan and mark run back to door) Dan: (laughs) typical* Reece: (struggles with door) Ahhshi… Mark:Oi mate is the key on your side?
- 6. Reece:Naaa, na it didn’t have a key, it was open earlier Mark:I’m sorry mate we can’t, the police are here Reece:Fams don’t leave us fams behind! Dan: You’re professional! Find a way out like you did with Harrods? Reece: Na I never snatched that place blud. I just said that to impress manz. Dan: (to mark) We have to go (mark nods) Reece: Marcus! We’re practically brothersblud. tracy’s my sister. (starts to break down) I wasn’t even in addyfamz
