- 4. One day as the Little Red Hen was scratching in a field, she found a grain of wheat. “This wheat should be planted” she said. “Who will help me plant this grain of wheat?”
- 5. “I wont,” meowed the cat. “I wont.”
- 6. “I wont,” squeaked the mouse. “I wont.”
- 7. “I wont,” baaed the sheep. “I wont.”
- 8. “Then I will,” clucked the Little Red Hen. And she did. “Then I will.”
- 9. Soon the wheat grew to be tall and yellow.
- 10. “The wheat is ripe,” clucked the Little Red Hen. “Who will help me to cut it?”
- 11. “I wont,” meowed the cat. “I wont.”
- 12. “I wont,” squeaked the mouse. “I wont.”
- 13. “I wont,” baaed the sheep. “I wont.”
- 14. “Then I will,” clucked the Little Red Hen. And she did. “Then I will.”
- 15. When the wheat was cut, the Little Red Hen said, “Who will help me to thresh the wheat?”
- 16. “I wont,” meowed the cat. “I wont.”
- 17. “I wont,” squeaked the mouse. “I wont.”
- 18. “I wont,” baaed the sheep. “I wont.”
- 19. “Then I will,” clucked the Little Red Hen. And she did. “Then I will.”
- 20. When the wheat was threshed, the Little Red Hen said, “Who will help me take this wheat to the mill?”
- 21. “I wont,” meowed the cat. “I wont.”
- 22. “I wont,” squeaked the mouse. “I wont.”
- 23. “I wont,” baaed the sheep. “I wont.”
- 24. “Then I will,” clucked the Little Red Hen. And she did. “Then I will.”
- 25. So she took the wheat to the mill and it had to be ground into flour. Then she said, “Who will help make this flour into bread?”
- 26. “I wont,” meowed the cat. “I wont.”
- 27. “I wont,” squeaked the mouse. “I wont.”
- 28. “I wont,” baaed the sheep. “I wont.”
- 29. “Then I will,” clucked the Little Red Hen. And she did. “Then I will.”
- 30. She made and baked the bread. Then she said, “Who will help me to eat the bread?
- 31. “I will!” meowed the cat. “I will!”
- 32. “I will!” squeaked the mouse. “I will!”
- 33. “I will!” baaed the sheep. “I will!”
- 34. “No, No!” said the Little Red Hen. “I will do that.” And she did! “I will do that!”
