The Acropolis was the high point of Athens where the prominent Parthenon temple was located, showing Athens' power. The Parthenon had tall marble pillars and a statue of Athena. The Agora was the marketplace where Athenians bought and sold goods and governed; democracy emerged here. The Theater of Dionysus was built into the Acropolis slope as Greece's first stone theater for drama worshipping Dionysus. The Temple of Hephaestus in the Agora was dedicated to the craftsmanship god Hephaestus and shared with Athena.
