The Time Is At Hand “… And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed…” (Romans 13:11)

The Time Is At Hand The Book of Daniel, along with the Book of Revelation, give a clear time-line of the nations that would rule the world and have a significant impact on God’s people and His plan for the redemption of men’s souls. Daniel Chapter 2 is the foundation of all end time prophesies. Together they give an unerring account of the history of the world from the ancient nation of Babylon to the second coming of our Lord. In them God’s people are not only warned about the events that would affect them, but God calls us to a state of preparation as we see the prophetic events unfold. The unfulfilled predictions of the book of Revelation are soon to be fulfilled. This prophecy is now to be studied with diligence by the people of God and should be clearly understood. It does not conceal the truth; it clearly forewarns, telling us what will be in the future. (LDE 15.6) The solemn messages that have been given in their order in the Revelation are to occupy the first place in the minds of God’s people. (LDE 16.1)

The Time Is At Hand Our Lord and Savior specifically instructs us to study these books. Says He: “ When ye therefore shall see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION , spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the Holy place…” (Matthew 24:15) “ … Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God…” (2 Thessalonians 2:4) “… Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand…” (Revelation 1:3)

The Time Is At Hand Daniel chapter 2 gives a broad outline of those nations from the reign of Babylon to the return of our Lord and Savior. Those nations are namely: Babylon Media/ Persia Greece The Roman Empire Pagan/Papal Jesus’ Eternal Kingdom

The Time Is At Hand Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth. This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king. Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold. And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. (Daniel ch2, vs 31-41)

The time Is At Hand And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure. (Daniel 2:42-45)

The Time Is At Hand But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay , and thou our potter ; and we all are the work of thy hand. (Isaiah 64:8) O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand , so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. (Jeremiah 18:6) He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay , and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. (Psalm 40:2)

White, God’s messenger to His remnant church, comments on the mixture of iron and miry clay, “…But statesmen will uphold the spurious Sabbath, and will mingle their religious faith with the observance of this child of the Papacy, placing it above the Sabbath which the Lord has sanctified and blessed, setting it apart for man to keep holy, as a sign between Him and His people to a thousand generations. The mingling of church craft and state craft is represented by the iron and the clay. This union is weakening all the power of the churches. This investing the church with the power of the state will bring evil results. Men have almost passed the point of God's forbearance. They have invested their strength in politics, and have united with the papacy. But the time will come when God will punish those who have made void His law, and their evil work will recoil upon themselves…” (Manuscript Releases, Volume One, page 51)

And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it. The Time Is At Hand After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. The Time Is At Hand A crisis of conscience In the eyes of groups like Adventists, Baptists and Evangelical sects, their regard and respect for democratic principles impose upon them the obligation—the religious, as well as the civil and political obligation—to defend every person's right to be wrong. Every person must have the right not only to believe in Hell of the Damned and Heaven of the Saved. Every person must literally be assured the right to choose Hell over Heaven. That obligation carried to that extreme not only sets the Minimalists apart from John Paul; it sets them against him, as well. It sets them apart from the Holy Father, because democratic principles can never take precedence over divine revelation. Crisis of Conscience Liberty of conscience is proclaimed by the United states, a most sacred principle which every citizen must uphold, even at the price of his blood. But liberty of conscience is declared by all the popes and councils of Rome, a most godless, unholy and diabolical thing which every good catholic must abhor and destroy at any cost The American Constitution assures the absolute independence of the civil from the ecclesiastical or church power; but the church of Rome declares, through all her pontiffs and councils, that such independence is an impiety and revolt against God. The American Constitution leaves every man free to serve God according to the dictates of his own conscience; but the church of Rome declares that no man has ever had such a right, and that the pope alone can know and say what man must believe and do. The Constitution of the United states denies the right in anybody to punish any other for differing from him in religion. But the church of Rome says tat she has the right to punish with the confiscation of their goods, or the penalty of death, those who differ in faith from the pope

The Time Is At Hand In common law countries, habeas corpus (/'heɪbiəs 'kɔɹpəs/), Latin for "you [should] have the body", is the name of a legal action or writ by means of which detainees can seek relief from unlawful imprisonment. However, habeas corpus has a much broader meaning in common law today. A writ of habeas corpus is a court order addressed to a prison official (or other custodian) ordering that a prisoner be brought before the court for determination of whether that person is serving a lawful sentence and/or whether he or she should be released from custody. The Time Is At Hand The Roman church/state is a hybrid, a monster of ecclesiastical and political power. The time Is At Hand And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. The Time Is At Hand Ellen White predicts, “..It has been shown that the United States is the power represented by the beast with lamblike horns, and that this prophecy will be fulfilled When the United States shall enforce Sunday observance, which Rome claims as the special acknowledgement of her supremacy…’ (Great Controversy, pg 578) “… When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government , and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near…” (Great Controversy, pg 451)

Symbols Explained Sea (Waters) Seven Heads Ten Horns And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. (Rev.17:15) And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. (Rev. 17:9) And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. (Rev. 17:12) And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. Explanation of the Seven Mountains Seven Mountains There has never been any difficulty in the mind of any enlightened Protestant in identifying the woman sitting on seven mountains and having on her forehead the name, “Mystery Babylon the Great,” with the Roman apostasy. No other city in the world has ever been celebrated, as the city of Roman has, for its situation on seven hills. Its 1972 report, the Limits of Growth, served as blueprint for this gutsy new political, economic, and military union. The Time Is At Hand These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. Our Identity And Our Mission Ellen White writes, “… The Lord has made us the depositaries of His law; He has committed to us sacred and eternal truth, which is to be given to others in faithful warnings, reproofs, and encouragement.--5T 381 (1885). { LDE 45 .1} Seventh-day Adventists have been chosen by God as a peculiar people, separate from the world. By the great cleaver of truth He has cut them out from the quarry of the world and brought them into connection with Himself. He has made them His representatives and has called them to be ambassadors for Him in the last work of salvation. The greatest wealth of truth ever entrusted to mortals, the most solemn and fearful warnings ever sent by God to man, have been committed to them to be given to the world...” (7 -138,1902). { LDE 45 .2} She continues, “… In a special sense Seventh-day Adventists have been set in the world as watchmen and light bearers. To them has been entrusted the last warning for a perishing world. On them is shining wonderful light from the Word of God. They have been given a work of the most solemn import--the proclamation of the first, second, and third angels' messages. There is no other work of so great importance. They are to allow nothing else to absorb their attention …”(9T- 19 1909). { LDE 45 .3}

The Time Is At Hand The Greatest want of the world is the want of men-men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who would stand for the right though the heavens fall.
