This document summarizes research on several themes related to technology use in education. It finds that while multimedia learning facilitates quicker learning, there is often a gap between students' and teachers' technological abilities. Several studies examined effective models for training teachers on new technologies, finding that support from administrators and ongoing professional development were important factors for successful training. Newer technologies like document cameras and digital video tools provide interactive learning opportunities if teachers are properly trained to integrate them into lessons. Overall, the research emphasizes the need to train teachers on new technologies to help close the gap between students' and teachers' technological skills.
