Thin Tim
This is Tim. Tim is thin. He is not fat. One day, Tim
goes to see Beth and her sister Thelma. Both of
them are girls. They are Tim’s friends. Tim goes
down the path. He sees Beth. She is crying. “Beth!
Beth!” says Tim. “What’s the matter?” “I can’t get
in,” says Beth. “I have lost my key.” “Don’t cry. Don’t cry, Beth. Let me
think,” says Tim.
Tim sits with Beth by the path. Tim thinks. Beth thinks, too. Then, along
comes Thelma. “Thelma! Thelma!” says Beth. “Beth cannot get in,” says
Tim. “Have you got a key, Thelma?” “I think so,” says Thelma. “Let me
see.” Thelma looks in her bag. She has a key.
“I have a key,” says Thelma. “Here you are!” She holds
up the key with her thumb and one finger. “Oh thank
you, Thelma!” says Beth. “That is lucky,’’ says Tim. “Beth
can go in. you can both go in.” “Thank you for sitting
with me,” says Beth. “Come and have a cup of tea,” says Thelma. Then the
three friends go in to have a cup of tea.
