ABSTRACT
This study aimed to investigate 1) to compare the competency level of
performance of secondary school teachers in Satun, 2) to check the fit of a structural
equation modeling the performance competency and 3) to test the invariability of a
structural equation modeling of competency of secondary school teachers in Satun province
of Public schools and Islamic private schools. The subjects of study were secondary school
teachers. The subjects were divided into two groups: 1) 300 teachers working for the
Public schools; and 2) 300 teachers working for the Islamic private schools. The subjects
were selected with simple random sampling method. The data were collected through a
questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using linear regression analysis model and to
testing the invariability of the model with multiple group analysis models using LISREL.
The research showed that:
1. The competency levels of performance of secondary school teachers in
the Public schools were higher than the Islamic teaching private schools with statistical
significance at the .001 level by Public schools were higher than the Islamic private schools
at 3.91 and 3.52, respectively.
2. The model was consistent with the empirical data at ïĢ2
(df = 131) =
363.56, p-value = 0.00, ïĢ2
/df = 2.77, RMSEA = 0.05, GFI = 0.95, AGFI = 0.90, CFI =
0.99, NFI = 0.99 and SRMR = 0.03 and considering the performance competency of
secondary school teachers of Satun province, the performance competency variable of
teachers. The proportion of variance explained approximately 69 percent influenced by the
total of the constructive culture variable (TE = 0.75), followed by aggressive-defensive
culture (TE = 0.06) influenced both directly positive (DE = 0.85) and indirect negative
(IE = -0.79) and a negative indirect effects (IE = -0.01) of passive-defensive culture

(TE = -0.01), respectively. Although the motive variable coefficient standard direct
negative influence on performance practice (DE = -0.82), but it affects the overall model.
The motive of operational variables The proportion of variance explained by
92 percent by the direct effects of variant aggressive-defensive culture (DE = 0.96) with
the passive-defensive culture (DE = 0.01).
3. The result of the effects models to testing the invariability of the
performance competency of secondary school teachers was found that the model has the
rainstorms with statistical significance at the .05 level; considering the four lines showed
the influence of the different variables that affect the aggressive-defensive culture variables
affecting the motive, aggressive-defensive culture variables that affects performance
competency, constructive culture variables that affecting the performance competency and
motive variables that affects performance competency.
