TMA 04 Supporting children’s learning through the curriculum <br />3000 words <br />Write an analytical account of key elements of one child’s learning and development – over a period of at least one week – in ONE of the following areas of learningcommunication and language (or language and literacymathematical development, including problem-solving, reasoning and numeracyknowledge and understanding of the worldpersonal, social and emotional development, including wellbeingIntroduction tell me about child and choice of area  Ethical statement Explain ‘holistic’ nature of learning? Say what your key elements are (you might get these form the EYFSThis assignment makes up 30 per cent of the continuous assessment component and must be submitted by 26 April 2010.Minimum mark for this TMA is 30% or higher depending on your previous marksPart one: write account Your account should discuss the child’s learning and development in the area of you have chosen, and include activities and resources where this is not the primary focusYou are identifying key elements of learning and how this learning was achieved.You should draw explicitlythe course materials-from Block 5 items in Part 3the setting-based evidence you have gathered in preparation  EYFS /KS1 guidance Consider the child’s use of technologies,  play, creativity, use of language/symbols keep focus on chosen areakeep focus on your roleTry to conclude with closing paragraph: sum up but also state what you have learned perhaps.You gain marks for referring broadly and relevantly.  To pass you must refer and show your knowledge of the specified materials.  There are extra marks for deeper analysis and for using further materials (previous units other reader chapters/DVD)Part 1 is 1/3 of the TMAIntroduction- 1 paragraphKey elements- 5-7 paragraphsConclusion 1 short paragraph<br />Part two : analysis and ways of supporting learning related to others identify the place of your chosen subject or area of learning in the curriculum your setting follows,  outline the implications of this both for the way you work with children and for the environment you plan and create. You will need to refer to planning for the subject as well as giving examples of the support you provide. You may wish to include evidence of both these things, as well as of your observations in one or more appendices An important element of the assignment will be your analysis of the way in which you work with colleagues and others as appropriate and, where possible, engage with your wider community, to support learningYour analysis should be supported by references to the course materials (including the readers) and to an annotated resource list (see below) which includes reference to official policies and related guidancePart three : annotated resource list : Select and annotate a range of items and sources to show how they support ideas and views you have expressed in Parts 1 and 2 of this TMA.to include your setting’s curriculum document, associated guidance and any key policy documentsThis TMA addresses learning outcomes KU1, KU5, KU6, CS1, CS2, CS3, KS1, KS2, PS1 and PS3.<br />
