This document outlines the requirements for a 3000 word assignment analyzing a child's learning and development over a one week period in one of the following areas: communication and language, mathematical development, knowledge and understanding of the world, or personal, social and emotional development. The assignment requires an introduction describing the child and area of focus, followed by key elements analysis in 5-7 paragraphs drawing on course materials and evidence gathered. It should conclude with a summary and reflection. Part two requires analyzing how the chosen area fits into the setting's curriculum, implications for teaching approaches and environment planning, with examples and optional appendices. References and an annotated resource list are needed to support the analysis.
