This document proposes using permaculture principles to design agricultural systems within the public spaces and rights-of-way of suburban neighborhoods in Vaughan, Ontario. It aims to create self-sustaining landscapes that reduce maintenance costs while providing local food production. The design would employ plant guilds and integrate agriculture, forestry, and urbanism to develop resilient and synergistic open spaces within existing and future communities in a way that is more ecological than current car-dependent development patterns.
