TSJC TOURNAMENT BRACKET 
TSJC Basketball Tourny kicks 
off basketball season at Scott Gym

The Chronicle-News 
The high school basketball season kicked off this past 
weekend with the 79th annual Trinidad State Junior Col-lege 
(TSJC) Tournament that took place at Scott Gym. 
Teams from Trinidad, Primero, Hoehne, Raton, Spring-er, 
John Mall, La Junta, Custer County and Pueblo West 
all took part in the event, which featured 24 games in three 
exciting days of great basketball play. Once the dust settled 
the Hoehne girls took the Girl’s Division Championship, 
while the hometown Trinidad Miner’s earned the Boy’s Di-vision 
Championship. 
On Thursday evening the cheerleaders shone, compet-ing 
between the 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. games. In that, also, 
Hoehne would take home the hardware. On Friday the an-nual 
Parade of Princesses took place following the 7:30 p.m. 
contest. On Saturday, following the final game, the Tour-nament 
Queen was announced. Earning a scholarship to 
TSJC, as the Tournament Queen, was Rebecca Suazo from 
John Mall. Look for more awards from the tournament 
at right. 
It was an exciting weekend of games to kickoff the 2014- 
15 high school basketball season.
