 India no.1 in Road Accidents.
 India suffers from highest number of deaths

 INDIA:2012
 Accidents : 4.97 lakh (1 every minute)
 Deaths: 1,42,485 (one death every 4 min)
 Road traffic injuries(RTIs) was 9th leading
cause of death in 2004 and expected to be

 Maintaing of Roads.
 It include maintaing existing roads.
 Improving road surface.

 Proper signs &widening of roads.
 There should be good lighting in night.
BY USINGTrafficsignandsignals
 In article 2 the convention classes all road signs
into a number of categories :
A. Danger warning signs
B. Priority signs
C. Prohibitory or restrictive signs
D. Mandatory signs
F. Information, facilities, or service signs
G. Direction, position, or indication sign
H. Additional panels
Warning signs can indicate any
potential hazard, obstacle or
condition requiring special
attention.
Here are the most common warning
signs:
Crossroad Sign
Y-junction
Sign
Narrow Bridge
Sign
Speed Humps
Sign
Priority traffic signs indicate the
order in which vehicles should pass
intersection points.
Here are some common examples
of Priority Traffic Signs :
Stop Sign
Go Sign
One –way Roadway Signs
Prohibitory traffic signs are used
to prohibit certain types of
manoeuvres or some types of traffic.
Here are some common examples of
prohibitory traffic signs:
Speed Limit Sign
Mass Limit Sign
Parking Prohibited
Sign
Stopping
Prohibited Sign
Mandatory signs are road signs which are
used to set the obligations of all traffic
which use a specific area of road.
Unlike prohibitory or restrictive signs,
mandatory signs tell traffic what it must do,
rather than must not do.
Here are some common examples of
mandatory signs:
Pedestrians Only Sign
Taxi Only Sign
Keep Left/Right Sign
Service signs are those that indicates a
specific facility by which many can find
useful, especially those that can be used for
medical purposes, security, and food.
Here are some common examples of
service signs:
Parking Area Sign
Hospital Sign
A direction sign, more fully defined as
a direction, position, or indication sign by
the Vienna Convention on Road Signs and
Signals, is any road sign used primarily to
give information about the location of either
the driver or possible destinations, and are
considered a subset of the informative signs
group.
Here are some common examples of
Indication Signs:
3-way Destination w/ Distance
Sign
