The Account Inquiry Form
■ Limitations
▪ Need to type in Account range every time
▪ Cannot filter out accounts with no balances
▪ User needs to navigate through large number of accounts
before finding desired results
■ Bug 9442359
▪ GL-ACCT Inquiry form returns combinations with no balances in
GL_BALANCES table
— “Most users are not currently using the GL inquiry screen because its
so difficult to get at combinations with balances in them. Due to this
issue, the user has to dip in and out of ‘Show balances’ for each
combination that the query returned to find where there might
actually be financial values, only to discover there are none. This is
decreasing efficiency for users.”

■ Using Views
▪ View(s) is now accessible from a drop-down box
▪ Select the View and click on Go
The Account Analysis and Drilldown Form
- Key Considerations
■ Number of records fetched in result
▪ When querying accounts in the Account Analysis and Drilldown,
only 201 accounts are retrieved
▪ The same is seen when drilling down from a Journal Entry on
the Journals form
▪ The 201 row limit is set by default for all customers in Oracle
Applications Framework pages for performance reasons
▪ The profile option that controls this value is FND: View Object
Max Fetch Size
▪ Set to 1000 in client production system without noticing any
performance issue
The Account Analysis and Drilldown Form
- Key Considerations
■ Ability to assign Views to all users (Doc 344169.1)
▪ Login as functional user SYSADMIN
▪ Assign the Functional Administrator responsibility
▪ Set the Personalize Self-Service Defn profile option to Yes
▪ Set the FND: Personalization Region Link Enabled profile option
to Minimal or Yes
▪ Navigate to the Account Analysis and Drilldown page
▪ Click on the Personalize "Balance Inquiry Period Listing Tab..."
link above the results table in the Period Listing inquiry type

- Key Considerations
■ Ability to assign Views to all users (Doc 344169.1)
▪ Click on the eye glasses icon in the Seeded User Views column
▪ Create a new view or duplicate an existing one
Note: Only Columns and
Sorting Options are
available to Sysadmin.
Additional search filters are
NOT available
The Account Analysis and Drilldown Form
- Key Considerations
■ Ability to assign Views to all users (Doc 344169.1)
▪ After View is created by Sysadmin
The Account Analysis and Drilldown Form
- Key Considerations
■ Ability to assign Views to all users (Doc 344169.1)
▪ User sees both sets of Views (self-created and Sysadmin-created)
▪ The self-created view gets accounts, amounts and periods
▪ The Sysadmin-created view super-imposes the Sysadmin-created
view columns over the user results
▪ First select User view, then Sysadmin View
The Account Analysis and Drilldown Form
- Key Considerations
■ Ability to assign Views to all users (Doc 344169.1)
▪ The user can modify or delete her own Views, but not those
created by Sysadmin
The Account Analysis and Drilldown Form
- Key Considerations
■ Views can be created at multiple levels:
▪ Account Balances
▪ Journal Lines
The Account Analysis and Drilldown Form
- Key Considerations
■ View at Journal Line Level
▪ Can display multiple Subledger details
The Account Analysis and Drilldown Form
- Key Considerations
■ Accounting Periods
▪ Accounting Periods are “hard coded” into the View
▪ Can setup Views with period ranges
▪ Periods can be modified at any time
The Account Analysis and Drilldown Form
- Key Considerations
■ Security
▪ MO: Operating Unit Profile Option is used for Drilldown
▪ MO: Security Profile Option is used to restrict data
▪ Data Access Sets and Security Rules are observed
The Account Analysis and Drilldown Form
- Summary
■ Web based form with similar parameters with Account Inquiry
form
■ Ability to filter out Accounts with no activity
■ Cannot use wildcards on account searches, but Views support
account ranges with non-existent CCIDs
■ Views can be created at multiple levels
■ Results can be personalized to display additional columns
■ Views can be setup by Sysadmin and shared with all users
■ Security framework is observed for display of results.
