Taking Simple
   Lesson
Impress your audience?
Taking Simple Lesson
• When you sit and watch experienced
lecturers take hold of the class, you are
  seeing magic in action.

• They make every thing look so easy and
smooth that you wonder .: “ were they born
  with the ability to teach?”
We asked ourselves
• When can I perform like him?
• How long does he takes to perfect this act.
• What must I do to gain the student
  commitment seen in the class.
• Who can mentor me?
• When should I start ?
Teach to Learn & Learn to Teach

In Reality, all that you see is
not magic in action. It is the
result of many years of hard
 work and training.
They have paid their dues many
 times over.
Teach to Learn & Learn to Teach

Less experienced- Don’t worry
Once you are aware of these,
 your confidence and
 effectiveness as a lecturer will
 multiply.
Teach to Learn & Learn to Teach
           Things to avoid
Be punctual – Stop arriving at the last minute.
This stresses out the student who do not know if they
will have a teacher.

Be sharp – You have a schedule to keep and your
student wants to be respected for their valuable time.
Stay on schedule, and stop a bit earlier than you said
you would to take questions.

Warm-up to gain rapport - All student need warmed
up and taking the time to do this can help you give a
better performance.
Teach to Learn & Learn to Teach
            Things to avoid
Be interesting – stop being so theoretical,
  intellectual & statistical.
Student want practical, useable material they
can apply and not content that requires a PhD
  to understand.
• Ditch the unnecessary information . If you do
your homework you will known what is
relevant. Do it, Develop it and Dump it
• Stop boring the student. Enough said?
Teach to Learn & Learn to Teach
           Things to avoid
State your mission for each lesson.

You will not confuse the student what
your topic is and why they come to
 your lesson.
Teach to Learn & Learn to Teach
         Things to avoid
Impress your student – Student like their
teacher to look sharp, professional and well
put together.
Get extra points on credibility before you
even open your mouth.
The silent Signal you send out can make or
break your first impression.
First impression are lasting impression and
you have only one chance.
Teach to Learn & Learn to Teach
            Things to avoid

• Keep in tune – Your student will appreciate it
and probably be back for more.
• Speak their language and don’t ignore their
  silent message.
• Use cool language and Tag phrases or catch
  phrases.
• Ready Plan B
TSL Approach
• A HEART TO TEACH
• Think others – It is never a job for self-promotion and self
  glorification.

•I hear, and I forget.
•I see, and I remember.
•I do, and I understand.
Jewish Proverbs

says:
When We come into the world,
We were crying and those around us
are smiling. Our goal should be to
lead our lives in such a way that
when We leave, We are smiling and
those around us are crying.
