- 3. What does What are the two major political parties in the U.S.? -Republican -Democrat
- 4. These cool guys are………cool because they are Democratic Billiard Players. What characteristics might they possess as Democrats?
- 5. These Republicans are having a grand time playing “Go Fish”. As Republicans what qualities might they have?
- 6. VS. WHO WILL WIN? IN A…………..IN AN INTENSE GAME OF BOCCE BALL ?
- 7. ……… .or we will just list their characteristics and compare. Republicans- Democrats-
- 8. Conservative and Liberal Conservative- traditional, more group-oriented Liberal- not traditional, more individual oriented.
- 9. Now that I have displayed all the stereotypes (most of which are not entirely true), let’s discuss. We always focus on the differences between Republican and Democrat/ conservative and liberal. Why don’t we take a positive approach for a change? What do we all have in common?
- 10. What’s my point? You are not always right…and that’s okay. Don’t believe something just because you have been told to, actually learn about it. We all have a common goal, and that is to be happy and make a better place for ourselves and our kids to live in. We may have different ideas on how to achieve that goal but the important thing is that we do not forget that we have the most important thing in common and the differences lay in the details.
- 11. SO QUIT TRYING TO IDENTIFY YOURSELVES AS SOMETHING BEFORE YOU KNOW WHAT THAT SOMETHING IS. FOR NOW, JUST BE A PERSON WHO IS LEARNING ABOUT WHO YOU ARE.
