• #5: Last year, I talked about the benefits of Big Data for Digital Transformation. Today I will give a quick overview about Blockchain and several business usage of the technology. Blockchain in technical terms is a distributed database and peer-to-peer network that stores a registry of transaction. Blockchain essentially allows for a certain valuable asset, money for example, to be tracked thru an Open Ledger that is stored across different locations making it transparent and highly secured.
• #6: Today, Blockchain is more commonly known to be the underlying technology for Bitcoin. It is also highly used in the financial sector for cross border remittance.
• #7: However, Blockchain can go beyond than Bitcoin or Financial applications. If can be used for Asset and Supply Chain Management in Manufacturing and in Retail to keep track of goods or products and faster settlement period across vendors. The same concept can also be applied to Logistics in order to track shipment more accurately and for faster delivery of goods.
