We will learn to talk about making some meal and using the  present active  and  passive  for describing a process.
K1: To know the names  of tea ceremony and  revise active and passive verb forms. K2: To use of the passive form for describing a  process in the sentences. K3: To read the text and find the passive form and  do the exercises. K4: To talk how to make the meal.  Objective:
to chop – cut sth into pieces a knife  to serve – work for sb to mix – make or prepare sth  to offer – give opportunity for sth, provide to bake – be cooked by dry heat in an  oven  guests  –  person invited to visit one’s  house Vocabulary:
to boil –bubble up and change to vapour by being heated  hosts – person who receives and entertains one or more other people as guests to pour – (a liquid or substance that flows like liquid) flow  flavouring –thing added to food to give it flavour to bow – bend the head or body as a sign of respect or as a greeting
English tea ceremony First , the teapot  is warmed . A little water  is poured  in the pot and then it  is thrown  away.  Next , the tea  is put  in  the pot – one teaspoon for each person and an extra teaspoon ‘for the pot’.  After that , the water  is boiled  and  is poured  over the tea. The tea  is stirred  and i s left  ‘to stand’ for a few minutes.  Meanwhile , a little milk  is put  into china cups.  After a few minutes , the tea  is poured  into the cups and sugar  is added  if people want that.  Finally ,  the tea  is drunk .
Present passive forms:   am/is/are   (not) + past participle Positive:  Butter  is made   from cream Negative:  Oranges  aren’t imported   into  Canada. Question:  How often  are  these rooms  cleaned ?
Active  Passive Somebody  The office   cleans  the office   is cleaned every day.  by somebody every  day.
The order of a process Examples: First , the coffee powder  is put  into the cup.  Next  some hot water  is poured . Then  milk and sugar  are   added . Finally , the coffee  is served .
Ex1:  Work in groups. Talk how to make a meal. Use first, then, next, finally and present passive form.  I group  II group  III group   IV group salad buuz tea  bread
Ex2:  Rewrite the sentences in passive forms  Japanese wear kimono.  A host offer sweets or a light meal. A woman serves to the guests.  Some guests wear formal dress.  People add sugar and milk.
Correct answers 1. Kimono is worn by Japanese. 2. Sweets or a light meal are offered by a  host. 3.  Guests are served by a woman. 4. Formal dress is worn by some guests. 5. Sugar and milk are added by people.
Ex3: Make the sentences Group1:  - A lot of/wood/is/paper/made/from - / this/is/in/called/English/What? Group2:  - is/A lot of/olive oil/in/used/Greek  cooking. - are/Where/made/they? Group3:  - written/Arabic/to/is/from/right/left. -on/taught/Are/any classes/ Wednesdays? Group4: - is/from/made/sand/Glass. - spoken/How many/are/languages Canada/in?
Ex3: Correct answers Group1: A lot of paper is made from wood What is this called in English? Group2: A lot of olive oil is used in Greek  cooking. Where are they made? Group3: Arabic is written from right to left. Are any classes taught on  Wednesdays?  Group4: Glass is made from sand. How many languages are spoken in  Canada?
Conclusion   First , hands  are washed . Next , the meal  is made . Then   people  have  the meal. Finally , the utensils  are cleaned . How often  is  English  studied  in a week? English  is studied  3 hours in a week.
