Unit 21: Audio Finding/ Creating
We have decided to create our own
bedding track using recordings from the
school at lunch/ lesson change over. This
will suit both adverts as both are for the
school itself and advertising ways to be a
part of it so to have a real life setting as the
bedding track makes the adverts seem
more realistic and natural. This will give the
potential students listening an idea of the
atmosphere at break, lunch and lesson
change. This will also be obvious and recognisably a school environment to the target
audience as they would know from primary/ secondary/ childhood. This again gives the
adverts a sense of realism. It will show them that the social side of the school is lively and
that the school is not strict in the social side and that students can still have time to have
fun and relax. This all being reflected by the bedding track gives us time to say more
academic facts and statistics and clubs within the voice overs themselves.
This track will fit the budget as this will be completely free to record. This is because it is not
singling anyone out specifically who we would need to pay or at a location that we would
need to hire. The fact that it is students would mean that we are filming a more ambient
sound as oppose to a structured or scripted recording where we would then need to
consider the permission from parents and the money spent if it was outside of the school
grounds and outside of school time. Using the school equipment means that we will not
need to pay for use of equipment (buy or hire). The only thing we will need to think about in
terms of equipment would be damage costs because if we were to damage/ break the
equipment we would need to pay the school for replacements and even then it would come
from our own money and not the main budget due to the fact the budget would come from
our employer/ client which in our case is Ringwood school.
