IntroductionThe purpose of this project is to create a presentation that will teach the importance of mental fitness and its implications to physical wellness.
The benefits of mental fitnessMental fitness helps you to reach your goals, it enables a better ‘you’ as a whole. Making mental fitness a part of your personal lifestyle, will allow you to take pleasure in astounding benefits which can completely impact all areas. Benefits may include cognitive control skills which gives you finely-tuned command over what you believe, what you experience, and even how you conduct yourself in any situations. When you have ultimately command over your feelings, sensations, and actions, you can set your life goals with assurance, knowing that you will move forward a straight line to accomplish them without being pulled off course by distractive thinking, depressing feelings, or self sabotaging behaviors (Lawrence, n d).
Research Studies from Healing TouchHealing Touch has been used in a variety of studies that used reducing stress as a measure of effectiveness.Many of these studies were done on students who were in a high stress environment by the nature of constant evaluation (tests and grades). Healing Touch was found to have a encouraging effect on reducing stress in this group, although it was not always substantial (Baldwin, 2002).
Depression is a compound illness that often times involve medical treatment. In one study indicators of depression using a customary test were found to decrease faster with those receiving Healing Touch. In an Australian study, depression was found to result in a detachment from self, others and the world. Healing Touch was supportive in providing an opportunity for the patients in this study to experience comprehension, safety, confidence, and positive expectancy in order to reconnect with the self, others and the human race (Leb, 1999).
  There are many procedures within Healing Touch that are exclusive for dealing with pain. They can be very sentimental for some individuals and at different times.  Often the sooner these procedures are used the more helpful they can be.  There are no contraindications for using energy work to ease pain and it can be important  in augmenting long-established methods or using when other tactics are not flourishing (Hover, 2001).http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lk2VvBB6VmMStrengthen your mental focus through NEURO-SCULPTING EXERCISESThis exercise is beneficial in improving your mental fitness, first form a thought in your mind of something you desire very much. Try your best to make the image very clear in your thought. Next, hold that image firm as you permit yourself to feel a positive and pleasant emotion concerning the image itself, so that the image and the feeling come together into a single mental experience, with that accomplished maintain that mindset for 15 or 20 minutes. If you should become distracted, engaging in mental talk, or you determine that your mind set has wandered off in some other thought, discontinue the exercise and start over. Try your best to keep the mindset from being corrupted by challenging thoughts, inconsistent emotions, or outside distractions. This brain cognitive techniques builds on your cognitive skills while preparing you for the real world application of what you learned in the practice (Lawrence, 2008).
Recipe of Self healing for the Mind and EmotionsAn abundance of metaphysical awareness, nurture faith in belief in the biological capacity to heal our own emotional stress.An abundance of physical exercise is beneficial in burning of chemical compounds such as adrenaline which is released by emotional stress and exercise.An abundance of meditation calms the chaos of the mind and creates peace from within.Eating right for a clear mind, be aware of how your body and mind reacts to certain foods. Carbohydrates, fats, sugar, alcohol, and wheat product may cause imbalances in some people.An abundance of spiritual exploration, having prayer and connection to a higher power can empower us emotionally.Seek and create a soulful community, we can calm each other through expressions of love, compassion, and support. An abundance of therapy , which may consist of talking out troubles to a qualified therapist or analyst.Medication only as needed, the goal is to tap into our inborn ability to heal ourselves through natural and complimentary methods. Medication should only be used temporarily to assist our body in its own healing.                                               (Hodes, 2007)
Summarizing the main points of the presentationPhysical wellness is part of encouraging your self care and making the most of  quality healthcare. This is done by healthy eating, exercise and self care habits,  achieving these qualities today may lessen your chances of developing chronic diseases later in life. As for mental fitness it is important  for maintaining self determination in taking on thoughts and actions that contribute to your own physical well-being and that of others. Both are important for sustaining healthy and happier lives.
