Unit 5 task 2
By Brandon
Interactive features
 Interactive features can be used on electronic devices such as tablets,
smartphones, e-books, smart televisions, consoles, and computers. The
interactive features gives you control over the sites so you can change it to
suit your needs the interactive features allows you to zoom in zoom out click
on the next page pause a video change the volume and make the video go
forward this allows the user or you to have control and do whatever you want
 Interactive features means a computer interacts with you or the user to
obtain information and even relating to a system communications by means of
a computer or a television
Zooming
out/zooming
in
How we can use the features
 We can use these features on our phones ipads by downloading apps such as
books and magazines which will take us to a link once we are in the app we
can go to the settings to change the things that we like so it suits us or the
user if there is a video about the news or football there will be a link to take
us there to a site like YouTube
Audio/sound
 An audio represents sound or a audio stream it is used to play back a audio
file within the webpage showing gui widget(graphical control element) with
play pause and volume controls. This includes sound and moving image with
audio you can also listen as you are listening to sound for example on a e-
poster where there is an option to listen to a computer read to you. Some
people learn best when they are listening and helps people in many ways
Advantages and disadvantages for audio
It helps some people study when they
are listening to music
You can get easily distracted
can be used for blind people Need connection so you can listen
Some people might find it easier to
listen as if they read they might not
remember everything that they read as
there could be too much
The robot that reads it to you might
pronounce words wrong when your
trying to listen
Some people might not use audio
correctly as they don’t have
headphones
Graphics
 Graphics are visual images or design that you can touch or click on so they
can move it around. Graphics is all about design and artwork as without it
there wouldn’t be pictures some examples of graphics would be pictures,
drawing, maps, and other images an example would be e-newsletter as they
have pictures that you can click on that will take you to a link or you can
zoom in and out an example would be a newsletter
Advantages for graphics and
disadvantages
You can make pictures stand out a lot
more by making them move they are
called gifs
It can cost a lot of money just to
make it
You can make the pictures of a comic
move every time you go on the next
page
Sometimes when you draw it might not
come out the way you want it to and it
could also come out in a very bad
condition
You can draw it on the computer
instead of draw it on paper
They take time to make as they are
digital and they can come out bad
Links
 When your on the internet and you see a underlined word that is a link if you
were to click on the word it would take you to a new page or site. An example
of this would be on a leaflet as they could have there website underlined.
The word is underlined in
blue that means it will
take you to a new site or
page explaining what it is
Advantages and disadvantages for links
Its helpful instead of going to the
search bar to type what you want
Sometimes it can take you to the
wrong site or page
Its very easy to spot as its underlined Sometimes it doesn’t work
They are also useful for sources of
information
It might bring you on another site that
is irrelevant
Its easier to navigate and access
websites
And it will also have the annoying pop
up
Page navigation
 Page navigation is where you can navigate the page by looking for the arrows
on the top or bottom of the page you can click on them so you can go to the
next page or the previous page. Sometimes if there is a manual that your
reading online you can click next to it to turn to the next page and you can
keep doing that which helps to navigate and there are many more buttons
that help
To go full screen
To find an item you
want to buy
To zoom in and out go to
the next page these are
all navigation tools
Advantages and disadvantages of page
navigation
It gives you quick access to pages Sometime you have to be a subscriber
to access the full thing
It suits your needs or the users needs so
they or you can have control viewing
habits
Some of the text don’t have the new
tools to be able to use the navigation
Video
 Video is a moving picture with sound that you can view. A video is something
that you can see people normally watch videos to find out what is happening
in the world or just to watch at home. You will normally see videos on e-
newspapers as they are quite good for videos they also give you lots of detail
and it explains a lot more when the video is shown to you or the viewers
a video telling
us about
something and
a button to
press play
Advantages and disadvantages for video
It can explain more to the user when
they are showing the video like
educational
The video might have poor quality
when someone is watching the video
It adds extra info and different things
online
The video might digress when your
watching it
Allows readers to see what's described
when they are watching it
There could be graphic contents like
adult content
Combining interactive elements
 Audio video graphics links page navigation
All these elements help each other in different ways these elements are combined
to help us so we can use the features to suit our needs or the users needs for
example without audio you wont have any sound when your listening to something
without videos you cant watch anything and without page navigation you wont be
able to control what your doing on the computer. Some people like paper based
things like newspapers as they like them but some people access the newspaper on
there phone as its digital they like these because they have the control over the e-
newspaper and its easier to access and there are videos on the digital version and
even links the user can use. Some people learn best by listening to a video and
even reading all these features are combined to help us today in our everyday lives
when we are watching videos, reading books, and using navigation tools.
