This research utilizes the YOLOv5 deep learning model to recognize three significant Indonesian batik patterns—kawung, mega mendung, and parang—highlighting their cultural importance. The model achieved mean average precision scores of 85% for kawung, 80% for parang, and an impressive 99% for mega mendung, demonstrating its efficacy in pattern recognition and potential applications in preserving cultural heritage. The study emphasizes the role of modern technology in cultural preservation, suggesting further enhancement through dataset expansion and integration into mobile applications.
