Geodesign focuses on simulating, analyzing, and testing design scenarios by combining GIS with the decision-making process of design. It was used to develop redevelopment scenarios for the Chelten Avenue area in Germantown, Philadelphia. Two scenarios were created that proposed new residential and commercial buildings along with parking and amenities to extend activity in the Navy Yard. Scenario 1 and Scenario 2 were then modeled and analyzed in a geodesign software program to compare their impacts and help determine the best approach.
