INTRODUCTION
Dear Dealer Principal,
I would like to introduce iTestDrive, a revolutionary
new cost saving mobile application that has been
developed specifically for motor dealers to do
away with clunky and ineffective hardcopy test
drive forms.
The real beauty of iTestDrive is that it will not
only save you money through more effective
information management, but also make you
money through more efficient lead generation
and client interaction practices.
This simple, smart and easy to use technological
solution adds value to each dealership with no
more lost leads and full digital management of
all information. Endorsed and integrated with
Pentana and Autogate, this smart application
easily and comprehensively digitally records
movement of all vehicles and clients and
assigns responsibility to identified drivers
and salespeople.
As a Dealer Principal and for the first time ever,
you can now have real time access to the
performance of your dealership from anywhere
in the world.
Dealer Principals and sales managers are able
to log and track the daily, weekly and monthly
performance of any sales person and rate
their closing success and training needs.
iTestDrive is also a tool for enhanced vehicle
inventory management.
Nowadays, with speed cameras, red light
cameras and tolls, it is essential that a Dealer
Principal can access and assign responsibility
to a particular vehicle on any given day or time.
Hefty penalties exist for businesses that are not
stringent about the process of logging drivers that
are using their vehicles, and even then, the time
that is wasted filing these log sheets and then
redeeming them in the case of an infringement is
considerable. iTestDrive does away with all that.

the address phone number and details of any
potential client that drove a vehicle can be

2.1 DOWNLOADING AND OPENING THE ITESTDRIVE APP
iTestDrive is available on the
App Store and Google Play.
Simply search by typing
“itestdrive” and you will see the
app appear in the list.
Enter a valid account to
download. Once downloaded,
click on the iTestDrive icon to
launch the app.

To log in, enter your email
address and personal
password or pin if you have
selected that option.
The home screen now appears.
There are five areas -
book out, statistics, settings,
help, and active drives.

Click ‘Book Out’ on the home
page. You will be prompted to
select ‘Test Drive’ or ‘Loan’.
Simply make your selection.
In the tabs, select ‘Stock #’ or
‘Rego #’. ‘Stock #’ is the default.
To search by registration number,
select ‘Rego #’.

Assuming you choose
‘Stock #’, enter the vehicle’s
stock number and then search.
The app is integrated with
your stock. The vehicle will
automatically appear.

If the vehicle does not
automatically appear, check
that you have put in the correct
details or add the vehicle to your
dealer inventory by pressing
‘Add Vehicle’ at the bottom of
the screen.
To add the vehicle, search the
vehicle’s stock number.
When found, the vehicle listing
will appear.

Check the details are correct,
then press ‘Save‘ to move to
‘Leads’ or ‘Continue’ to continue.
Choose the ‘Client Licence #’
tab. Enter the client’s license
number and press the green
magnifying glass to search.
If the client is in the database,
all their details will automatically
appear and you can press
‘Continue’.
If the client is not already in the
database, you will need to press
the ‘Add Client’ button.

You can capture up to 2 forms
of I.D. You can select to use
‘ID Scan’ to pre-fill information,
or ‘Photo ID 1’ to open the
camera and manually enter the
client’s information.
Importantly, these images are
not saved on your device.
They go to iTestDrive’s secure
database and are only used for
infringement details.
2.5 MANUAL INPUT OF DRIVER’S DETAILS
In either case, take a clear photo
of the license.
When scanning, do not take
the photo in direct or poor light,
and align and focus to maximize
the scan devices capabilities.
This process takes around
10 seconds.
If you choose to take a photo,
you will be asked if you would like
to use or retake the photo.
Select use if you are happy with
the image.
Press the next field to replicate
the process for the reverse side of
the license or any other I.D. that
your dealership may require.

You will notice that the phone
number or license number you
have entered has been saved in
the field.
Continue to fill in each and every
blank field remaining.
Slide the screen up to enter the
client’s email address. This is
very important. All the information
including terms and conditions
will be sent to this email address.
After the fields have been
completed, press ‘Continue’.
The vehicle and client details
will be displayed.
Once the client has agreed with
the terms and conditions, press
‘I Accept’ to confirm, and then
press ‘Book Out’.

The client agrees again to
the terms and conditions by
signing with their finger.
Then click ‘Done’.
Confirm that you want to book
out the vehicle.

The vehicle is booked out and the
test drive time will be recorded
and logged from that moment.
You can have unlimited test drives
booked out at the same time.

When the client returns,
select the center button on the
home page, ‘Leads and Active
Drives’, to reactivate the test drive
activity. Four tabs will appear at
the top.
‘Leads’ are leads that have
been pushed to you by the lead
provider (Autogate) or vehicles
that have been saved, to continue
at a later time.

‘Active’ are demos that have not
yet been booked in.
‘Incomplete’ are demos that have
been booked in but no comment
on the outcome of the demo has
yet been selected.

have had. Sold cars are marked
in green and loan cars in yellow.

Find the client that has
just returned. Click the
client’s name, and the
iTestDrive app will return
you to the active test drive.

The book in has now been

The client will automatically
receive an email from Carsales
including the e-brochure on
the vehicle.
Another email from iTestDrive with
the signed terms and conditions
will also be sent, with a thankyou
from the dealership endorsed by
the sales person.

At any time after discussing the
demo with your client, you can
enter ‘Active Drives’ and select an
outcome for future reference and
follow up.

in a drop down box to choose

If none of these apply, you can
select ‘other’ and record your
own result.

From the home page,
click ‘Settings’.

In settings, you can view or edit
your own personal profile.

The ‘Help’ icon will take you to
video tutorials in case you need
a refresh on how to use the
application and the portal.

display all the stats on your
personal demos - names,
addresses, email, phone,
age, sex etc.

3.1 SIGNING UP OR LOGGING IN
To start, simply log in. You will
have access to all the inventory
and leads that your Autogate
account authorizes.
If your dealership is subscribed
to the iTestDrive service, continue
by clicking the ‘Autogate’ tab.
To subscribe, hit the iTestDrive
logo or the hyperlink on this page.
You can easily sign up, log into
the portal, watch videos and
much more.

After you’ve made contact and an
appointment has been confirmed,
click on the iTestDrive icon.
This loads all of the clients details
and the vehicle on the iTestDrive
mobile app.
The mobile Autogate will
automatically launch the
iTestdrive app.
From the autogate desktop
version, you will need to open
the iTestDrive app to retrieve the
pushed lead.
The clients, leads and vehicles
that you have loaded through the
Autogate portal will now appear.

When you are ready to
commence the test drive,
just click that lead.
If the details are correct,
click ‘Continue’.
Either press ‘ID Scan’ to scan
automatically or ‘Photo ID’ for
manual input.

Align the licence and tap
to capture.
When scanning, the process
takes around 10 seconds.
The client’s details will appear.
You can edit any field or retake
the image.

are correct, press ‘Continue’.
The vehicle and client details will
be displayed.
Once the client has agreed with
the terms and conditions, press
‘I Accept’ to confirm, and then
press ‘Book Out’.

you to the active test drive.

section of Autogate for that lead.

number and then press ‘Continue’.
Follow the same Book Out and
Book In procedure as previously
explained.
When the vehicle is booked
back in, a new lead will be
generated and all comments
transferred to the leads profile.

By pressing the ‘Driver’ tab you
can view all details of the driver.
From this page, you can call
or email the client directly
from the app.
To manually enter the driver’s details,
press ‘Photo ID’ to open the camera. Align the
licence and tap to capture. This can be repeated
for up to three I.D.’s if required.
Importantly, these images are not saved on your
device. They go to iTestDrive’s secure database
and are only used for infringement details.
Enter the client’s phone number. If the client
is already in the database, their details will
fill automatically. If not, proceed to fill in the
blank fields.
The address field is integrated with a
predictive address search capability, similar
to Google Maps. When you type in a correct
address, following fields, including city, state,
and postcode, will automatically fill.

If you can’t find a comment in the
drop down box that suits your
result, simply select ‘Other’.
You can then type in, or tap
on the microphone to activate
speech to text and record your
own personal comment.

top left will take you ‘back’ at

1.	 To view or edit your profile,
press the arrow on the
top right. Dealer Principals
can change personal and
business profiles on this
page by selecting ‘Personal’
or ‘Business’. All other users
can only edit their own
personal profile.
2.	 To edit the image associated
with your profile, press on the
image box and replace from
your files.
3.	 You can change your email
address, phone number and
password from this page.
4.6 STATISTICS
On this page, you can check all
statistics by date, age, gender,
make, model, postcode and
sales person. Simply tap on any
graph to adjust your search.

5.1 ACCESSING THE PORTAL
This is the User Guide for the iTestDrive Portal, used to
create new users for a dealer, add new vehicles,
add new clients, and view statistics. Access the portal
by clicking ‘Sign In’.
Enter the email associated with your account, or your
username, provided by iTestDrive. Enter your password,
also provided by iTestDrive, and log into the portal.

The portal is a user-friendly dashboard, which displays all the iTestDrive features.
The default page will display all users who have access to the portal with their basic details.
The portal allows you to view and search your test drive activity. The navigation on the left
allows for quick reference to the activity conducted by the users in the dealership.
By clicking ‘Edit Business Profile’, you can enter or update your dealerships
company profile. You can upload your company logo, add group email addresses
and add your dealerships terms and conditions.

Click ‘Submit’ to save your changes.
By clicking ‘Account Details’, you can view details of the iTestDrive account.
View available licenses, add or change licensed users, access your payment details
and renew your iTestDrive account.

5.6 EDITING A PERSONAL PROFILE
By clicking ‘Edit Personal Profile’, you can edit the details of the logged in user. You can
add a secondary email account, department they belong to and a picture, and change the
password provided by iTestDrive. Click ‘Submit’ to save your changes.
Click ’Change Password’, enter a new password, confirm your password and
click ‘Submit’ to save your changes.

To add a new user, simply click on ‘Add User’, fill in the name, email address, a temporary
password, and the role of the user by selecting on the drop down options.
Click ‘Submit’ to save your changes.

The user is now saved into the iTestDrive system and will have immediate access
to the system.
5.9 DELETING A USER
To delete a user simply click on ‘Delete’ under ‘Actions’. You will be asked to
confirm the deletion.

The user will be removed from ‘Users’.
To create a vehicle, click on ‘Create Vehicle’ and enter the vehicle’s details, such as
stock number, rego number, make, model, year, and department from the drop down list.
Click ‘Submit’ to save your changes.

Under ‘Vehicles’, you will see your entry was successfully created.
5.11 BOOKING OUT A VEHICLE
To book out a vehicle, click on ‘Book Out’. Select the radio button to choose your
search method. You can search the vehicle either by ‘Stock #’ or ‘Rego #’. Click ‘Submit’
to begin the process. When the vehicle is found, click ‘Continue’ to process the book out.
Don’t forget to select ‘Test Drive’ or ‘Loan’.

5.13 ACTIVE DRIVES
To access the details of a test drive, select ‘All Test Drives’. You can search for a vehicle and
driver from a specific time or day. Enter the ‘Rego’ or ‘Date’ field and click ‘Search’.
You can see all test drives that are currently out under ‘Active Drives’.
You can book in, make comments and show details by selecting the appropriate action.

5.14 STATISTICS
You can view and search statistics under ‘Statistics’. Search by all, day, week,
month or year, or customize a selection from the available options.
The results of your selected search method will appear. Click on any comment or graph to
customize your results further.

Simply search by typing “itestdrive” and you will see the app appear in the list. Enter a valid account to download. Once downloaded, click on the iTestDrive icon to launch the app.

ITESTDRIVE USER GUIDE10 If the vehicle does not automatically appear, check that you have put in the correct details or add the vehicle to your dealer inventory by pressing ‘Add Vehicle’ at the bottom of the screen. To add the vehicle, search the vehicle’s stock number. When found, the vehicle listing will appear. 2.4 SEARCHING OR ADDING A VEHICLE (CONT.)
  • 13. 11 Check the details are correct, then press ‘Save‘ to move to ‘Leads’ or ‘Continue’ to continue. Choose the ‘Client Licence #’ tab. Enter the client’s license number and press the green magnifying glass to search. If the client is in the database, all their details will automatically appear and you can press ‘Continue’. You can select to use ‘ID Scan’ to pre-fill information, or ‘Photo ID 1’ to open the camera and manually enter the client’s information. Importantly, these images are not saved on your device. They go to iTestDrive’s secure database and are only used for infringement details. 2.5 MANUAL INPUT OF DRIVER’S DETAILS In either case, take a clear photo of the license. When scanning, do not take the photo in direct or poor light, and align and focus to maximize the scan devices capabilities. This process takes around 10 seconds. If you choose to take a photo, you will be asked if you would like to use or retake the photo. Select use if you are happy with the image. Press the next field to replicate the process for the reverse side of the license or any other I.D. that your dealership may require.
  • 15. 13 2.5 MANUAL INPUT OF DRIVER’S DETAILS (CONT.) You will notice that the phone number or license number you have entered has been saved in the field. Continue to fill in each and every blank field remaining. Slide the screen up to enter the client’s email address. This is very important. All the information including terms and conditions will be sent to this email address. After the fields have been completed, press ‘Continue’. The vehicle and client details will be displayed. Once the client has agreed with the terms and conditions, press ‘I Accept’ to confirm, and then press ‘Book Out’. 2.6 BOOKING OUT A VEHICLE USER GUIDE (GENERAL)

If your dealership is subscribed to the iTestDrive service, continue by clicking the ‘Autogate’ tab. To subscribe, hit the iTestDrive logo or the hyperlink on this page. You can easily sign up, log into the portal, watch videos and much more.

This loads all of the clients details and the vehicle on the iTestDrive mobile app. The mobile Autogate will automatically launch the iTestdrive app. From the autogate desktop version, you will need to open the iTestDrive app to retrieve the pushed lead. The clients, leads and vehicles that you have loaded through the Autogate portal will now appear.

From this page, you can call or email the client directly from the app. To manually enter the driver’s details, press ‘Photo ID’ to open the camera. Align the licence and tap to capture. This can be repeated for up to three I.D.’s if required. Importantly, these images are not saved on your device. They go to iTestDrive’s secure database and are only used for infringement details. Enter the client’s phone number. If the client is already in the database, their details will fill automatically. If not, proceed to fill in the blank fields. The address field is integrated with a predictive address search capability, similar to Google Maps. You can change your email address, phone number and password from this page. 4.6 STATISTICS On this page, you can check all statistics by date, age, gender, make, model, postcode and sales person. Access the portal by clicking ‘Sign In’. Enter the email associated with your account, or your username, provided by iTestDrive. Enter your password, also provided by iTestDrive, and log into the portal. 5.2 LOGGING IN

The default page will display all users who have access to the portal with their basic details. The portal allows you to view and search your test drive activity. By clicking ‘Edit Business Profile’, you can enter or update your dealerships company profile. You can add a secondary email account, department they belong to and a picture, and change the password provided by iTestDrive. Click ‘Submit’ to save your changes. You can book in, make comments and show details by selecting the appropriate action.
