Let's Ask the Experts: "The User Profile Service is a shared service in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 that enables the creation and management of user profiles that can be accessed from multiple sites and farms. - 9. User Profile Synchronization Service • Almost Identical to SharePoint 2010 UPS • Works with other directory services • Exports to AD (Top request from 2007) • Flexible Property Mappings • "Exports" & "Flexible" equals "a little more complex"
