- 16. CreatiFi Grant CreatiFI introduces the FIWARE technologies to very large relevant communities of Creative Industries and web entrepreneurs. With a €4.8 million fund for SMEs, web entrepreneurs and ICT developers, it supports the development of new applications leveraging future internet technologies for the Creative Industries. 59 applications received funding ranging from €10k to €50k to develop a prototype, of which 18+ will be selected for additional funding of up to €100k for commercial development and acceleration. In addition to financial support, successful developers and entrepreneurs will be provided with technical support, living lab validation to test applications and explore markets and gateways to further funding.

- #5: We recruit participants who satisfy certain demographic requirements and we invite them to our usability lab … a clean and pristine lab with a one-way mirror along one wall and cameras all over the room Behind this mirror participants are being observed by the product owner, developers and other stakeholders
- #6: Expensive hard- and software has to be brought together to observe and record users’ behaviors and satisfaction. E.g. for mobile apps a sled with a mounted camera is needed to track the mobile screen And another camera is needed to record the users emotions

- #8: And the lab is not the users natural environment! While they are performing pre-defined tasks on a clean computer or device they have never used or seen before Participants will never be interrupted by their wife or kids, get a phone call or an IM message while using the app.
- #9: With UXvue you don’t invite a group of local participants anymore to your local lab But any person using your app no matter where they are located, the language they speak, etc. You don’t have to let them perform pre-scripted tasks but you can observe when they perform the tasks they already had in mind [Although you can always ask to perform a certain task for you…]
- #10: When they have opened your app, you can ask them to join an online session They can quickly check their audio and video and start the session with you Once the session is started they just continue using the app as they normally would Or people can contact you themselves for an online session and show you what problems they are having with the app…
- #11: Your stakeholders do not have to come to your usability lab neither, they just need to find a time and space and use any device They can remotely observe how people use the app They can in real-time annotate and analyze the audio/video and interaction data They can communicate through a voice channel with the user to better understand what the problems are
