Vector Graphics and Raster Graphics
The difference between vector graphics and raster graphics
is that vector graphics are represented in a mathematical
fashion, which allows you to zoom into the image as much as
you want without it losing resolution. The lines are made up
of paths and not pixels. Vector drawings are used for
business cards and billboards.
Raster graphics are made of pixels and each pixel increases
in size as the image gets larger resulting in the image losing
resolution. They are ideal for use when an image will be
used once and never enlarged. Raster graphics are usually
GIF, Bitmap, JPEG and the larger the image, the more disk
space it will use up.
