Raster graphics are made of pixels and each pixel increases in size as the image gets larger resulting in the image losing resolution. They are ideal for use when an image will be used once and never enlarged. Raster graphics are usually GIF, Bitmap, JPEG and the larger the image, the more disk space it will use up.
