Overview
Vendor Group Addon for Magento 2 is basically an admin panel module which provides several
admin panel features. With this addon, the website admin will have the facility to create groups
of vendors and all the features provided to the vendor will now be provided depending on the
group to which he/she belongs.
These groups will further classify the vendor according to the website, store and store views. As
per the default feature of Magento 2, websites were at the apex followed by store and store
views but now, there is something above websites also and this is nothing but the Group.
A Group can have multiple vendors but a vendor can only be a part of any one group. If a
vendor belongs to two groups then before becoming a part of 2nd
group he/she will first be
unassigned from the first group so that he/she can belong only to a single group. This is
specifically done to keep a track of the rules or conditions that need to be applied to a vendor.
If a vendor will belong to more than one group then which of the rules will applicable to
him/her can’t be decided as each group will have different rules and conditions like different
discount rules, tax rules, etc. Therefore, because of the same reason common vendors among
groups are not allowed in the Vendor Group Addon.
CedCommerce Multi-Vendor Marketplace should be installed prior to Vendor Group Addon as
Vendor Group Addon depends upon CedCommerce Multi-Vendor Marketplace. With Vendor
Group Addon one more sub menu gets added to the CedCommerce Multi-Vendor Marketplace
main menu, in the admin panel, and that is “Vendor Groups” to provide group related features.
Enable/Disable Group
To enable the Vendor Group Addon, go to Marketplace > Vendor Configuration and select
“Yes” in the “Enable Vendor Group System” dropdown and click on “Save Config” button to
save the system configuration settings. Selecting “No” will disable the Vendor Group Addon and
it features won’t show up on frontend.

Add Group
The website admin can add a group by going to the left menu section and selecting
Marketplace > Vendor Groups. This will open the Vendor Groups page displaying the grid
containing the groups that have been created so far. By clicking “Add New Vendor Group”
button a new group can be created.

Following page will open for adding a new vendor group:-
i) Group Info
The basic group information like group name and group code are to be provided
here. “Group Code” should be a unique field to identify the groups easily.
“Group Name” field can include any value in characters.
ii) Group Configuration
It provides configuration settings to the website admin. These settings are
similar to the configuration settings of CedCommerce Multi-Vendor
Marketplace. They are being provided here to organize the facilities of the

vendor according to the group. In other words, the vendor features and facilities
can vary from group to group, for example, in one group the vendor can have
the option to create three types of products while in the other group he/she may
have the option to create only one type of product.
The settings which are not present here will be taken from the configuration
settings of CedCommerce Multi-Vendor Marketplace and those which are
present and have been changed by the website admin in this section, will
override CedCommerce Multi-Vendor Marketplace settings and thus, Vendor
Group Addon settings will be reflected.
Given below is the screenshot of the Group Configuration section:-

iii) Group Resources
This section provides the website admin the authority to limit the vendor panel
features available to the vendor at frontend. The website admin can select the
tabs or features which he/she wants to be displayed in the vendor panel
navigation menu at frontend. Only the features selected from here by the
website admin will show up at frontend in the vendor panel. Rest of the features
will not come if they are not selected. The screenshot has been given below:-

The website admin can select the features to be displayed at frontend and then click on “Save
and Continue Edit” button to save the changes done so far and carry on with editing.

Here, we can see that default page that opens up first as soon as the vendor logs-in is
“New Product” page, but, when the Resource Access was not limited then, the
dashboard page was the first page which opens up. This is because, whichever feature
will be present at the top in the left side navigation menu in the vendor panel at
frontend, that page will be treated as the default page and will open up after login.
Thus, when “Dashboard” the topmost feature, the dashboard page opened up and
when the topmost feature in the navigation menu was “New Product” then new
product page opened up.
iv) Group Vendors
This section displays the grid of vendors with their status as
“Approved/Disapproved/New”. The website admin can select the vendors he/she
wants to include in this particular group. The “Reset Filter” button should be clicked to
display the list of available vendors. The screenshot is given below:-
If a vendor already exists in a particular group then on assigning him/her in some other
group first of all he/she will be unassigned from the previous group and then included in
the current group.
After filling all the information, click on the “Save Vendor Group” button to save the group and
display it in the grid.

Edit Group
The website admin can edit the details of a group by clicking on the row of the corresponding
group that is to be edited, to open up the Edit Group page. Thereafter, the group details to be
changed can be provided and “Save Vendor Group” button should be clicked to save the
changes made to the group.
Filterable grids
All the grids of Vendor Group Addon can be filtered on the basis of the columns present in them
by entering the required values for filtering and then clicking the “Search” button. The records
which match the filter conditions will be listed.
