Detective Doug Johnson is investigating the death of Grace Rose's husband which was ruled a natural causes death. Doug begins falling for Grace who claims her husband was abusive. Doug later learns from the forensic scientist that the husband was poisoned by Grace over several weeks. When confronted by Doug, Grace admits to poisoning both her husband and Doug to avoid being caught and imprisoned for the murder. She leaves Doug to die from the same poison.

- 1. Script: VENENUM Characters: Detective- Max Johnson Femme Fetale-Charlotte Bell Forensic Scientist-Alex Van Log Husband-Nick Wotton Scene 1 Detective: How did it happen? Forensic Scientist: Natural causes it looks like Detective: any witnesses? Forensic Scientist: only the wife Scene 2 Detective: Are you Mrs Rose? Femme Fetale:Yes? Detective: Would it be possible to ask you some questions about your husband? Femme Fetale: If you must Detective: Could you tell me exactly what happened around the time of his death? Anything suspicious? Femme Fetale: Weâd just gone out for a walk. Like we do every week. We only got to the tunnel when he started having a go at me. Shouting and screaming like he normally does, and then he just collapsed. Straight to the floor. I started to panic and thatâs when I called the ambulance. He was horrible you know. Detective: Well Iâm sorry for your loss. Did he always get mad at you? Femme Fetale: What do you mean? Detective: Did he usually have a temper? Femme Fetale: Letâs just say he was an awful person Detective: Iâm sorry to hear Mrs Rose Femme Fetale: Please call me Grace
- 2. Detective: Is there anything you need my help with, Grace? Femme Fetale: I donât suppose you want to get coffee sometime? Detective: Sure Iâd love that. Femme Fetale: Later around 4? Detective: Perfect Femme Fetale: Iâll see you then detective? Detective: Doug Scene 3 Detective:So that day I met her for coffee. Before I knew it I was falling for her. She told me all about her horrible husband. I couldnât help but feel sorry for her. How could a girl that nice have been with a guy like him? We met up more and more. Her smile, it was infectious. She makes me so happy and I hope I make her happy too. I think Iâm falling in love. When will I see you again? Femme Fetale: Can you come round tonight? Detective: Of course Femme Fetale: see you tonight (kiss on cheek) Scene 4 Forensic Scientist: Doug? Detective: Iâm taking myself off of the case Forensic scientist: What why? Detective: Itâs complicated are you at the lab now? Forensic scientist: Donât get too involved with her Doug, Iâm on to something and I donât want it to get in the way of the case. Detective: Why does my involvement with her have anything to do with you? Forensic Scientist: Just be careful Detective: I can take care of myself

Scene 5 Femme Fetale: Hi Detective:hello, I got you these, but by the looks of it you donât need them Femme Fetale:no theyâre lovely, thank you, you can go into the living room, I will be right though Detective: okay (phone rings) Hello? Forensic scientist: Poison Detective: Poison? Forensic scientist: He was poisoned Doug Detective: What do you mean!? Do you have any leads? Forensic scientist: (blah .she must have been poisoning him for weeks; I canât believe I didnât figure it out sooner. Are you with her now? You have to leave blah) Detective: What? , Iâm going to have to call you back Forensic scientist: Doug youâre going to have to leave nowâŠ. (Doug hangs up) (Doug reading book, Femme Fetale walks in, hides the book behind his back) Femme Fetale: Something interesting? Detective: Oh just browsing Femme Fetale: Found Anything? Detective: Just this book Femme Fetale: about what, may I ask? Detective: I know Femme Fetale: What? Detective:I know about your late husband Femme Fetale: I donât understand Detective: donât play dumb with me Femme Fetale: I wondered how long it would take you to find out! Detective: Well now I know
- 4. Femme Fetale: You know I expected my husband to fall for it. But not you. Detective: How could you do this to me, I thought you loved me Femme fetale: HA! Love doesnât last long Detective: How? Femme Fetale: Isnât it obvious? Drinks, cake, dinner? I did the same to my husband. You didnât really think he died of natural causes? We hated each other. I wanted a divorce, but he would have taken everything the house, the car, the money. Detective: so thatâs what this is about money? Femme fetale: All I had to do was get rid of him. Then Iâd have everything. I took him on one of our usual walks. We walked and walked to make it seem like heâd over exerted himself. We stopped for lunch and that was the final dose. I knew heâd be dead within the next hour. We started walking home and that was it. He died there and then right in front of me and I didnât feel anything. Thatâs when I called you. (falls) Detective: Why are you doing this to me? Femme Fetale:You were in the way. I knew youâd solve the case and Iâd be in jail. Detective: So what? Youâre just going to leave me to die? Femme Fetale: Iâm sorry it had to end this way. You shouldnât have got involved. Five minutes. Detective: What? Femme fetale: Bye doug Detective: Wait⊠(dies)
