Volleyball was founded in 1895 by William G. Morgan and was first played as an official game at Springfield College in 1896. It is now played by 46 million players worldwide and has been an Olympic sport since 1964 for indoor volleyball and 1996 for beach volleyball. The game is played by two teams of 6 players on a rectangular court divided by a net. Teams score points through a rally point system, where the first team to 25 points wins the set as long as they are ahead by 2 points. Key skills in volleyball include serving, passing, setting, and attacking such as spiking.
