1. SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN
SCIENCE 4
I. Objectives:
a. Identify the four phases of the water cycle.
b. Adopt law on protection and preservation of
fresh water.
c. Construct different ways on how to properly
consume water.
2. II. Subject Matter:
Topic: The Water Cycle
Reference: Science IV MELCs Quarter 4
Module 3
III. Procedure
A. Review
- GUESS THE PICTURE
4. B. Motivation: “PICTURE ANALYSIS”
The teacher will show a picture of the Earth
through a PowerPoint presentation and explain that
75% of the Earth's surface is covered with water, while
only 25% is land. This means water covers more area
on Earth than land.
• When do you use water?
• Do you think the amount of water on earth
decrease since its existence?
5. C. Presentation
a. Present the lesson and objectives
b. Activity
“ PUZZLE GAME’’
The class will be divided into two groups.
Each group will arrange the puzzle to form a
picture of the water cycle.
(The learners will participate to solve the
given puzzle.)
7. D. Analysis
The teacher will challenge the students to
think about these questions:
• What do you see in the puzzle picture?
• Can you name the parts of the water cycle?
• What do you think will happen if the sun is
missing from the picture?
• Why do you think the puzzle pieces must go
in a certain order?
• How does the puzzle help you understand
how water moves in nature?
8. E. Abstraction
The teacher will ask the following questions:
a. Enumerate the four phases of water. How does
global warming happen?
b. When have you seen precipitation happen
around you?
c. What is the law that aims to protect and preserve
fresh water? Republic Act No. _________ .
d. At young age, how can you protect our water?
9. F. Application
The class is divided into two groups. Each group is given 5
minutes to complete the assigned task. At the end of the group
task, one member from each group will be chosen to present
the output in front of the class. Presentations will be evaluated
based on the given rubrics.
10. III. Assessment:
Direction: Identify the following in each sentence.
Write the letter of the correct answer on the blank
provided. Choose your answer from the box.
a. Condensation
b. Collection
c. Water Cycle
d. Precipitation
e. Evaporation
f. Water
g. Republic Act No. 9275
11. ______ 1. The clouds get heavy, the water will fall into the Earth
through the rain, snow, sleet and or hail.
______ 2. The water vapor or gas rises higher into the air, it cools and
condenses. This gas will turn back into liquid and it will form clouds in
the sky.
______ 3. The state shall pursue policy of economic growth in a
manner consistent with the protection, preservation and revival of the
quality of fresh marine waters.
______ 4. This is also known as hydrological cycle. It is the continuous
movement of water on Earth.
______ 5. It is the process wherein the water falls back to the earth, it
may go back into oceans, lakes or rivers.
______ 6. It is a process when the sun heats up water in seas, rivers,
lakes, ocean and ponds then turn it into water vapor and rises into the
air.
12. IV. Assignment:
Answer the following in your science notebook.
1. What is life cycle?
2. What are the four stages of life cycle?
3. Why life cycle is important?
