- 3. INTRODUCTION The world wide web was originally designed in 1991 by Tim Berners-lee in Switzerland. Web development refers to the creating, building and maintaining of websites.it includes aspects such as web design,web publishing,web programming,and data base management. Web Sites can have many capabilities and can be utilized in different fashions; a site can be an individual website, a business site for a company, a government site or a non-benefit association website.
- 4. HTML HYPERTEXT MARKUP LANGUAGE HTML is a format that tells a computer how to display a web page. The documents themselves are plain text files with special "tags" or codes that a web browser uses to interpret and display information on your computer screen. An HTML file is a text file containing small markup tags. An example HTML code is shown below: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <body> <h1>My First Heading. </h1> <p>My first paragraph. </p> </body> </html>
- 6. CASCADING STYLE SHEET(CSS) What is CSS? • Cascading style sheets(CSS) is used to format the layout of webpages. Using CSS CSS can be added to HTML documents in 3 ways: • Inline – by using this style attribute inside HTML elements • Internal – by using a <style> element in the <head> section • External – by using a <link> element to link to an external CSS file

It is open- source, extremely easy to use and has been widely accepted by several companies and websites. • MySQL is also the first database management system most developers come across.
