- 3. Comparing Features - Planning When planning my website I took into consideration my target audience and how I would advertise my product to its full potential. My style model ( www.paranormal activity.com) uses features similar to my own. The technology that I used in planning my website included weebly.com In which I drafted a website to understand its features, imdb to search for movies similar to my own and also the google search engine to look for movie websites with different layouts and content. Based on the content of Ancillary 1, I tried to keep up consistency in house style , this helped as I could use techniques I had learned through photoshop to add images and text with similar styles and font to the website. I feel that I could have done further research in the planning of my website, like I did with my other products. Through the use of technology..For example; how I used a Flipcam to record feedback from my potential audience.

Comparing Features - Construction During the construction of my website , the technologies that I used included; Aviary to produce my soundtrack, youtube to upload my trailer, photoshop to make images and banners and also facebook and twitter as promotional tools. I think that the technology available today for example social networking helps massively in with promotion and since my brief was to make a cross promotional package for a film trailer , I believe that I have followed the conventions of promotional material in the horror genre as well as meeting the expectations of my target audience. To achieve this I have used the links – Homepage, official trailer, official poster and synopsis, however as the homepage has the most visual impact I feel that this is my most engaging page. Firstly to create the layout of the page have uploaded content using the functions of weebly. My title banner is used on each page and was created in photoshop, next I have produced a short video using iMovie to promote the release date, this also includes sound. Additionally each of my pages include the soundtrack to my trailer which plays automatically, again promoting the trailer. To persuade my audience to watch the trailer based on just viewing a poster and website I have used the social networking sites facebook and twitter to interest the public. Other things which I thought improved the overall quality of the homepage were the newspaper quotes, this also promotes the continuity as I have used quotes on my poster and in my trailer. Finally I used the credits and logos I created on photo shop at the bottom of each page, similar to the paranormal activity website. In the construction of my website I have learned that there are a vast amount of technologies available to use in the content of a horror film website. For example; games pages and character bio’s. If I re-drafted my website I might consider finding the methods to add these features. I have also learned how to use different software and create admin pages for social networking sites which will hopefully help me in future projects.
