- 2. MP3 MPEG layer 3 is a type of audio codec where processed by significant compression from the original audio source with very little loss in sound quality. The compression up to 12:1 produces a very little degradation. Tighter compression can be achieved, but it will effect in sound degradation results. The advantage of MP3 is that it can be broken up into pieces, and each piece is still playable. The feature that makes this possible (headerless file format) also means that MP3 files can be made to stream across the net real-time (assuming the playback bitrate and speed of the Internet connection are compatible).
- 3. Ripper Ripper is software that converts the music from CD into the data of another form. There are some forms, Wave, MP3 and so on. When converting file, the size is compressed.
- 4. Portable MP3 player A portable MP3 player is a portable device regenerating the audiophile of a MP3 form recorded to built-in memory and a memory card. Because there are not the moving parts such as motors unlike CD Walkman, it is a big merit not to make a skip.
- 5. FTP FTP means File Transfer Protocol. FTP used when file is forwarded on TCP/IP networks such as the Internet and Intranet.
