A server farm contains many connected servers that work together to provide capabilities beyond a single machine. The Internet backbone consists of high-capacity data routes and core routers that transmit data across countries and continents. An Internet service provider connects customers to the Internet using technologies like dial-up, DSL, or cable modem. A personal digital assistant is a handheld computer that can function as a mobile phone, web browser, or portable media player.
