Concept Maps: Connecting past and present knowledge They represent the connections between concepts (Shapes, Patterns, Natural World, Man-made world) Precise and verifiable Uses hierarchical structures for concepts Cross links between ideas (red+yellow=orange) How do teachers use Concept Maps? Design their curriculum overview Evaluate students learning of concepts
- 4. HOW TO MAKE A CONCEPT MAP 6 Easy Steps to Concept Mapping: Concept – what’s the main idea? Generating sub concepts – related to the central theme Ranking your concepts -sorting and rating their relevance Finding the links – how do concepts cross-link?
