LOTs and HOTs
Guide Questions:
1. What is the text all about?
2. When is the right time to wash your hands.
3. How to wash your hands?
4. Why do you think it is important to wash your hands?
Explain.
The text you have listened to is an example of an EXPOSITORY
TEXT developed through a sequence or order.
An expository text is a form of writing in which the purpose of the
author is to inform, explain, describe or define his or her subject to
the reader (Haitram, 2020).
Let us analyze the given steps in hand washing.
What have you observed with the first words?
3. Why do you think those words are written in color red?
The words:
first, second, third, next, and finally
are signal words used to introduce the steps in a process or a
sequence of event.
Sequence – The author lists items or events in numerical or
chronological order.
