What are Test Screenings?
- Test screening is a preview screening of a movie or television program before it's
released date in order to get good sense of the audience reaction. To help make test
screening easy a preview audience are chosen from a cross-section of the population,
preview audience are asked to complete a questionnaire or give a feedback in some form.
What are Critic Screenings?
- Critic or known as (Press) screenings are usually done for national and big market
critics in advance of print and television production-cycle deadlines, and are usually done
by invitation only. This step may fail (omitted) if a studio anticipates negative critical
reviews, or if a film is still being edited until release date.
What are Focus Group Screening?
- FG screenings are formal test screenings of a film with very particular documentation of
audience responses. Target audience members would answer survey questionnaire and are
usually done in interview. Group discussions following a film with 25-30 people are
common. Their opinions may be recorded by pressing buttons during screening.
What are Private screening?
- Are provided for investors, marketing and distribution Representative, and VIP media
figure. Private screenings occur during film festivals.
What are Preview Screening?
- Preview screening are public screening done at boutique theaters. These may be a final
test screenings used to adjust marketing strategy (radio & TV promotion) or the film
itself. Viewers may be asked series of questions to determine if they fit the film's target
audience.
What are Sneak Preview?
- Is an unannounced film screening before it's released date.
My audience Feedback
- When I got my audience feedback, I took what they had into thought,I had used their
information to make changes for my film also better for my target audience. This was
very handy as it helped me make more effective trailer.
