What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product ?
Abode premiere CS3
• Abode premiere CS3 is one of the different software’s we
used. We used adobe premiere CS3 to edit our footage and
create our film, the software on adobe premiere allows us
to edit the different shots and cut between shots in order
to make the shots match up. On adobe premiere we were
also able to add background music to the film opening, and
alter the sound levels within the footage, such as the wind
levels. Using adobe we were also able to add the film titles
such as the actor’s names and the directors etc. when using
adobe premiere I wasn’t aware that the sound levels of the
footage could be turned up and down, however this is a
new skill we have gained from using the adobe premiere
software.
Camera equipment
• When filming our media project we used different
types of equipment to ensure that we film our footage
smoothly. We used tripods to make it easier to film our
footage and maintain the steadiness of the camera; we
also used the tripod in order to rotate the camera
when creating establishing shots smoothly and without
the camera shaking. We used the camera to film the
footage itself for our media project. Through using the
camera equipment we gained knowledge and how to
use the equipment, and how important the equipment
such as tripods is to enhance the professionalism of
the opening.
Microsoft word and PowerPoint
• Throughout the process of our media project
we used Microsoft word and PowerPoint
numerous times to help plan our work. Such
as when we created the different shots we
would use in our media project we used
Microsoft word to list all the shots we would
be using for our opening. We also used
PowerPoint and Microsoft word through the
course of our project to show our use of IT
skills in our final evaluation.
Google
• We used Google when planning and creating
the ideas for our film. We used Google to help
research what type of opening we can create;
we did this by researching the different types
of thriller genres such as action-thriller, spy-
thriller and gangster-thriller. We also used
Google for images to upload on to our blog,
for purposes such as when we created our
thriller genre mood board.
YouTube
• We used You Tube to research and watch
different types of thriller openings to help gain
an idea on the narrative of our opening. We
also used You Tube to upload our preliminary
task, and we used You Tube at the end of our
media project to upload our final film
opening.
Wikipedia
• We used Wikipedia through the course of our
media project to gain information about the
different thriller films and their narratives. We
also used Wikipedia to gain knowledge about the
different thrillers and how each sub genre is
different; we also used it to help write our
definition of a thriller on our blogs. Wikipedia
also helped us when writing about the different
sub genres on our blogs. Wikipedia has become
useful in the process of making our film opening.
Blogger
• We used blogger throughout our whole media course to upload
every piece of work we have completed within the course. When
researching the thriller genre everything that was carried out
during the research would be place on our blogger and categorised.
At the start of the course we were asked to give definitions of the
thriller genre and its sub genres, and these definitions were to be
placed under the thriller genre page. We also used the bloggers to
track our progress and planning of our film opening, we had
categorised pages for our research and our target audience
research. These pages contained information on the different
audiences we thought that our film was targeted towards. We also
had pages categorised for our planning of the film opening, we had
pages for our initial ideas, locations and for our progress, when
filming the opening, and we used diaries to keep track of this.

What have you learnt about technologies from the

  • 1. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product ?
