South Korean government went through many different forms of authority. According to Jung Hae Gu,
professor of Social Sciences at the University of Sung Kong Hoe in Korea, and Kim Ho Ki, professor
of Sociology at Yonsie University in Korea, the Republic of Korea has so far went through a total of 6
different regime changes since the liberation from Japanese occupation (Hae Gu, Ho Ki). The shifts in
government occurred under various regimes, Rhee Syng Man, Park Chung Hee, Chun Doo Hwan, and
the June Uprising of 1987 (Hae Gu, Ho Ki). But the lead up to the democratization of South Korea has

comparisons engaged in this 1962 poem are gruesome and goes to the extent of relating the horrific
events in the Holocaust to the torture of depression. This poem would be considered as confessional
poetry in which Sylvia Plath is very known for. Plath derisively portrays herself as Lady Lazarus and
many other personas in relation to the Holocaust, to express her suffering. However, this poem might
be depicted as a foreshadowing of Plath s own suicide after her failed attempts, which makes the poem

Why I Learned The Piano
As a thirteen year old I could only watch game shows for so long, and that day I could not take
anymore. I couldn t sit still and needed to hear more than Steve Harvey and the Family Feud theme
song, so I wandered into her sitting room that always felt a little warmer than the rest of the house.
Sometimes I would sit on the couch by the window and feel the sun s heat hit my face and watch the
cars drive by. Sometimes I played with her giant record player, but vases covered it that day, so I went
to her old piano. Dust covered sheet music and instruction books filled the bench of the piano. I
flipped through them and found songs I knew, and I became determined. That day I decided I wanted
to learn the piano. Every day at the same time I would go in her sitting room and practice, and every
day she would listen and tell me how good a job I was doing. Some days she would even come play
with me. Every day of that summer looked exactly the same: sleep in the morning on the couch, have
lunch with my mom, and play piano in the afternoon. It did change on some days when my

study conducted was by Casey Field Office Mental Health (CFOMH). This organization set out with a
few questions for a group of foster youth. The study interviewed 188 adolescents ages 14 to 17 who
were receiving foster care services from Casey Family Programs in 2006. About 10 children of the
group of 188 youths identified as LGBQ. This study includes both the experiences of the LGBTQ
youth groups as well as their non LGBTQ counterparts. The results of this study concluded that out of
the 10 students who identify as LGBTQ all felt as though they were not being given the help they

Jazz music came to seem not merely an annoyance but a threat, ( Roaring Twenties ). The 1920 s was
when Jazz became a hit: it was being played in roadhouses, dance halls and places all over the
country. It s a very fast paced sound that was different than what people had heard of before. Louis
Armstrong was a very well known jazz musician during this time. He played the trumpet and was a
very good jazz musician. He was in many bands, played in Broadway and traveled playing jazz for
people (Wenning). Louis Armstrong was born on August 4, 1901, in New Orleans, Louisiana (Woog,
15). He grew up in a very poor area nicknamed, The Battlefield. Armstrong s parents both worked; his
father was a factory worker then abandoned Louis s family soon after Louis s birth. His mother often
went to prostitution, and she left him with her mother: his grandmother. Armstrong left school after
the fifth grade, he started working for a Jewish family, which got him into singing. He gathered junk

Later on, New Year s Eve, 1912, Armstrong ran into some trouble with the cops because he was
caught with his grandfather s gun. After being caught he was sent to the Colored Waif s Home for
