- 1. My name is Derek Knoblich and I am a graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato with a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Technology with a focus in Software Development (2014). I have collegiate and personal experience with C#.Net as wellas SQL, Java, and Python. I have learned the value of collaboration, and work well in a team setting. I am not afraid to ask for help or give assistance when requested. I have strong written and verbal communication skills and I excel at conflict resolution. I am a hard worker, a fast learner, and I always love a challenge. While working at the IT Service desk at Minnesota State University Mankato, I have been an administrator on a Content Management System, and have experience with Active Directory Administration as well. I have also worked with Power Limited Technicians running Plenum CAT 6 Ethernet lines and hooking up new jacks. Working at the service desk also puts me in a customer service position where I always strive to provide the best experience possible. I work with customers to alleviate problems and help them learn how to prevent future problems using terms that are easy to understand. I am able to calm distressed customers and work to find solutions for their issue while keeping them comfortable during the repair process. I am particularly good at identifying the problem when customers are not computer literate and use non-technical terms to describe the issues they encounter. Over the past few years,I have also been an IT Consultant. My experiences as an IT Consultant included working with old systems and software and striving to find ways to update the software without disrupting the day-to-day works of the company. I have also worked with Vendors to procure newer versions of software and consulted the Vendors for guidance on how to get the new software up and running correctly. I also custom built eleven new computers and one new server for the company prior to upgrading their software. For all the computers that were built, I also created a custom image.
