It is developing the European Security and Defence Policy using the strategic partnership established with NATO on security issues. THE UNITED NATIONS aims to maintain peace and security and help developeconomic,social,culturalandhumani- tarian cooperation throughout the world. It has nearly 200 member countries and provides the legal basis for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
