Telnet is the standard Internet protocol for remotely accessing and controlling another computer. It allows a user to use their keyboard and monitor to control a remote computer, with their keyboard acting as the remote computer's keyboard. Telnet standardizes main terminal functions between the local and remote computers, such as character deletion and process interruption commands, through a virtual terminal interface that emulates a physical terminal.
