- 1. Evaluation- HMV bag To make my HMV bag I used the programme Photoshop which helped me to modify and create my bag.I used different tools in the making of my bag.By using these tools it helped me to create a higher graded bag. Using Photoshop was helpful because it had simple, easy to use tools that created a good effect. Some of these tools were: Magic wand- this was useful to cut out specific things you wanted from and inserted image. It also helped to make pictures overlap.(would only work if it had a clear background. Lasso tool- helps you trace over text, or a person! Using the lasso tool is for more detailed and difficult editing. Move tool- this was a tool you would have to use constantly to help move images to different images and generally helped me move things. Quick selection- the quick selection tool is useful for selecting and cutting other images out, using it if there is enough, difference in the colour of the background then the object Along with the quick selection tool I used these 3 other helpful tools. They took away anything that I missed out when selecting specific things. And also added if I missed out and important things. Erase tool- this was useful if I didn’t want anything I could simply get rid of it. Text tool- this helped so I could add the lyrics necessary. or any text
- 2. I used the opacity tool- to fade the kings of Leon album, this is available when I have layers and other images to fade it behind. Before this topic I didn’t know how to use Photoshop very well. But using this programme everyday,helped me understand how to use it. I also learnt more new skills like how to use the opacity tool, and magic wand. My Bag Positive- On the back of my bag the HMV logo is clearly recognisable, and the whole design of the back is simple. This is why I really like it. Tit is very noticeable that there is a kings of Leonalbum behind all of the text. Also I chose a well-known album cover which is also unique in the way the band made it. Negative- on the back of my bag I have specific lyrics from kings of Leon songs, however unfortunately all of the lyrics, have words cut off, because I hadn’t scaled the size accurately. “You know that I could use somebody” is one of the lyrics I used, but it’s now “you know that is could use sombod” as well as the lyrics the HMV logo also have some of it black background missing. I don’t like this because it doesn’t look profession.Maybe blended it in and made smaller to fit the scale and to not have this green box. Positive- I quite like the front of my bag because its shows different moods. It also is like time line of what/how the band has changed. I really like how I have set it up, with a main band photo taking p the first half. And 2 smaller band photos equally on the bottom half. Negative- like the back of my bag. I have thing missing and not fitting or to scale, which ruins the whole of the front of my bag. I think this because I haven’t got the whole band in. also I have so much empty space. Positive- I really like the sides of my bag. I chose to have the same design on both sides to make it look professional and look tidy. I’ve included all of the band albums to make people realise it is all about the kings of Leon. I like how the albums make it have some colour and making the bag look unique. I purposely didn’t make the albums touch along the side because I didn’t want it to look to similar to the bottom of my bag. I also didn’t make the album
- 3. covers symmetrical because to me it would look to restricted and not creative enough. This design fit perfectly to make my bag, was accurate to scale. Negative- I would have made the top and bottom symmetrical to make it look tidy, which would have also made the whole of the top of my bag look to scale and would have made it look like I have thought about it more, or added more detail. Another negative it the 4 middle pictures I would have maybe changed the order of them. I have got two heavy coloured pictures first them 2lighter album, then back to another black one. Changing the order of these albums would have made it look and stand out more. Positive- the bottom of my bag is nearly the same as the sides; however this is a collage which doesn’t have gaps. I love the idea of still having the album themes all the way around the edge and bottom, and I like how it’s not the same pattern on the bottom. The bottom is cool because it messy, and I wanted that effect, this is because the rest of my bag is all tidy and simple. All of the album covers look good and makes it stand out. I also like how its different sizes, making it unique. Negatives- unfortunately without realising I have missed out a gap where an album cover could have fit in. apart from that I like the bottom of my bag. Am I pleased with my bag? Yes I am pleased with my bag because I think all of the designs are unique and simple. Even though they are simply there are certain elements that make the designs much more likeable when compared to another. By keeping things simple, I think ensures that I don’t confuse or overwhelm my audience or buyers. I really like my bag because I put a lot of effort into it and ijm pleased with the outcome. What would I change or do differently if i did this project again? I would have evaluated what I did after every lesson so I was clearer step by step of what I had achieved or did wrong. I would have experimented more on Photoshop to see if I could have made the bag more unique and interesting
