MATERIAL: Model (Being a Language Teacher), Dictionary, textbook.

PREPARATION Read the text below and analyze its organization.
:

                                                   BEING A LANGUAGE TEACHER

Being a language teacher is a very demanding but at the same time a very rewarding career. If you are
open, if you love travelling, learning about cultures, and helping others you will definitely enjoy this job.
There are different fields where a language teacher can work. First, you can work for different
institutions such as schools, universities and language institutes; you can also be a private tutor.
Furthermore, a lot of institutions offer teachers the opportunity to travel abroad and participate in
exchange programs to study and acquire a wider cultural vision.

Now, being a language teacher demands lots of qualities and responsibilities. You have to be patient,
caring and objective. You have to prepare classes according to students´ needs and the institution
requirements. Besides that, you have to teach all English skills to promote effective communication. In
addition, a language teacher has to introduce students into the cultural aspects of the English speaking
countries. On the other hand, a university language teacher does not have to deal with parents
meetings and extracurricular activities such as talent shows, bingos and school fairs.

To sum up, I would say that being a language teacher offers you lots of chances to meet and help
people who are interested not only in a language but in cultural aspects.
